Backstrom was a television crime series that followed the cases assigned to the Special Crimes Unit of the Portland Police Department, headed by the "overweight, offensive, irascible" Detective Lieutenant Everett Backstrom (Rainn Wilson) who, despite his grating qualities, is a terrific investigator. Based on a Swedish book series by Leif G. W. Persson, the series premiered in January of 2015 and aired for 13 episodes.

Detective Lieutenant Everett Backstrom (Rainn Wilson) carries a Glock 17 as his sidearm. He is shown as being very un safe while drawing it, often with his finger on the trigger and even firing it in the air to stop a fleeing suspect, and even one time accidently shooting himself in the arm.
Tobias Percival III (Keenan Tracey) in the pilot episode "Dragon Slayer (S1E1) is seen pulling a Smith & Wesson Model 60 with pearl grips on Visser in a flashback, and then is later retrieved by Niedermeyer as evidence.

Officer Frank Moto (Page Kennedy) can be seen armed with a Remington 870 during the raid on a club, it is fitted with a foerend weaponlight and a door breach attachment. A Native American on the Reservation is also seen with one in "Enemy of my Enemies" (S01E07).
