Scottish soldiers use Lee-Enfield No. I Mk III* rifles.

German Soldiers including Nikolaus Sprink (Benno Fürmann) also use Mauser Gewehr 1898 rifles. Leutnant Horstmayer (Daniel Brühl) discharges various Gewehr 98s during the burying of the deads.
Machine Guns
FN MAG 58
There´s only one MG in this movie. It´s a FN MAG 58 mocked up as a MG08/15. Identifiable that the barrel is at the center of the water jacket and that the bullets be introduced from the left.
.
Grenades
Citron Foug modèle 1916
French soldier Gueusselin (Lucas Belvaux) takes two Citron Foug modèle 1916 grenades before he goes over the top. It's an anachronism, because the grenade was introduced 2 years later.
