The Smith & Wesson 5904
Is the Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol used by Duane Barry in S2E05 really a 5904? When CCH Pounder's character is talking about the gun, she says it has a "9-round magazine". Granted, that could be a script/dialogue error, but if you look at the first picture of him holding the gun, it seems to have a single-stack frame rather than double-stack, as a 5904 would have. Wouldn't that make it another variant? (not sure which; I checked the Smith & Wesson pistols page and couldn't find a match for that frame/sight/trigger guard style) -MT2008 (talk) 19:00, 16 August 2014 (EDT)
- Pretty sure it is a 3904. We so far only have listings for the compact single stack 3rd gen Smiths, but this full length one did briefly exist. It was made from 1988 to 1991, had either 2nd gen type fixed sights or the winged adjustable ones, and there was also the 3906 (stainless version) available. I believe that initially it came with an 8 round magazine, but it was a weird mag that had a load of extra space in it so it could be easily adapted to accept 9 and ones made by other companies held 9 (I think this was due to the fact that the 3rd gen mags were longer, but they just kept to capacity the same to make it a like for like replacement for the 2nd gen single stacks for whatever reason). I think if it was offered today people would want it, but at the time it was in the middle of the wonder-nine craze so there was no demand for it. --commando552 (talk) 19:10, 21 August 2014 (EDT)
- Found a decent pic, looks like a match: How do you think we should list it? Put it on a page by itself, or create a 3900 series page like the other 3rd gens and role the current 3913 page into this? --commando552 (talk) 19:19, 21 August 2014 (EDT)
- Whoa, interesting find here. Makes sense though, as it did look a bit off from a 5904, so thanks, good to be accurate of course. Anyway, I vote for making a 3900 series page as we have done with the other S&W autos. StanTheMan (talk) 22:21, 21 August 2014 (EDT)

- Nice job, Commando! That's been bugging me since the page went up. Aside from Another Stakeout, I suspect that gun was also in at least one episode of The Sentinel, which had the same armorers as this show. -MT2008 (talk) 22:37, 21 August 2014 (EDT)
- I think the one in the episode of The Sentinel "Nigh Train" is a 3904, but the one in "The Debt" isn't, as the 3904 wasn't around long enough to be produced with the rounded trigger guard. The sights are wrong for a 5904 though, as I think that when they changed the shape of the trigger guard they also changed the design of the fixed sights to the Novak type ones. I imagine that the one in Another Stakeout is also this gun, as I can't see the hooked trigger guard in either of the caps, and with those sights it is a match for the gun used in the "The Debt" episode of The Sentinel. My guess for this gun would be the budget Smith & Wesson 915, as this has matching frame (actually a double stack, but lacks the lightening machining at the front so looks like a single stack), trigger guard, and is a 3rd gen design so the barrel bushing matches:The real clincher would be if there was a clear shot of the right side of the slide as the 3904 has an ambi safety/decocker whilst the 915 doesn't, however with both appearances the only shots showing the right side are too dark/blurry to be 100% sure. --commando552 (talk) 11:13, 22 August 2014 (EDT)

Mulder's revolver
A young Fox Mulder uses an unknown revolver in an attempt to defend his sister Samantha from alien abduction during a flashback in "Little Green Men" (S2E01).
Perhaps Ben can get a better shot of this, meantime I'm pretty sure this revolver (and therefore, the one in the flashback shown in Season 4) is a S&W Model 10. StanTheMan (talk) 22:11, 7 September 2014 (EDT)
- Appears I was right - Thanks yet again, Ben. I'll move this back to the main page (thanks also to Nototter for posting this up in the first place as well). StanTheMan (talk) 12:39, 8 September 2014 (EDT)
