My Name Is Bruce
Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
My Name Is Bruce is an independent horror comedy that satirizes the career of B-Movie actor Bruce Campbell of The Evil Dead fame. In the film, a desperate town hires the actor to be their monster hunter, as an ancient Chinese Demon wreaks havoc on their lives. Bruce Campbell (portraying a version of himself) agrees, thinking it is some sort of movie or PR gig. Little does he realize that he is really being hired to fight a real monster. In order to maximize the film's budget, Campbell produced and directed the feature on and around his own property in Oregon.
This movie premiered at the Ashland Film Festival in 2007, however, it had problems getting a release date in the United States for a long time. Despite having had many 'premiere showings' across the country (one in San Francisco as late as Dec 2008), as January 2009, the DVD rights have only been sold in the European territories. Finally the American DVD was released (with neither fanfare nor advertising) to U.S. DVD market in February 2009.
The following weapons were used in the film My Name Is Bruce:
Pistol
AMT Hardballer Longslide
Bruce Campbell (portraying himself) uses an AMT Hardballer to great effect during the first assault on the monster (never removing the sales tag from the gun).
Shotguns
Parker Double Barreled Shotgun
A 12 Gauge Double Barrelled Shotgun is displayed by the town's gunshop owner and checked out by Bruce Campbell. The shotgun eventually ends up in the hands of another townsperson.
J.C. Higgins Model 20 Shotgun
- As seen on the wall of the gunshop behind it's proprietor. As an design element, this has to be one of the most 'low rent' representations of a 'gun store' I've seen. The Long guns are just propped up against the wall in cubby holes with no racks to hold them in place.
Winchester Model 12
Rifles
Nock Gun
Steyr AUG
Colt Government HBAR A2
Brown Bess
Milled receiver AK-47
- Seen on the wall of the gunstore. It could be a Poly Technologies Legend or one of the recent U.S. made receiver built up guns.
M14 Rifle
- Seen on the wall of the gunstore. It could be an M1A or other semiautomatic M14 clone.
Marlin 336C Lever Action Rifle
- Bruce uses (or tries to use) a Marlin 336C Lever Action rifle, but has difficulties.
Other
Various handguns
- Seen in the glass case of the gunstore where the town holds an impromptu meeting. The makes and models can't be determined from this shot. The four that is the most focused are, from left to right, a stainless commander sized 1911 with pearl grips, a ruger sp101, second gen fullsized glock, and a s&w revolver.
