Maniac (1934, re-released later as Sex Maniac) is an exploitation horror movie. Don Maxwell (William Woods), a vaudeville actor, as wanted for a crime, and the mad scientist Dr. Meirschultz (Horace Carpenter) takes him in as an assistant. However, when the mad doctor pushes Don too far, he kills to doctor and then starts to impersonate him, to throw off suspicion. Soon, Don also goes mad.

As it was typical with exploitation movies at the time, Maniac was presented as an educational documentary in order to avoid censorship. The movie is in public domain today.

The following weapons were used in the film Maniac:

Smith & Wesson Model 10

Dr. Meirschultz wants Don to commit suicide, in order to conduct experiments on him. The doctor gives Don a Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolver, however Don shoots the doctor.
