Jurassic Park III (2001)

The following weapons were used in the film Jurassic Park III:

Barrett M82A2

A bullpup variant of the Barret M82 .50 caliber sniper rifle known as the Barrett M82A2 is seen used in the hands of the mercenary Cooper (John Diehl). When first testing it at an aircraft boneyard, Nash tells him it's an "Einhorn 20mm" that fires 20mm high explosive incendiary rounds, is gas operated and uses a rotating bolt. It is fitted with an AN/PAS-13 Thermal Weapon Sight (TWS) and a Harris bipod. The rifle can be heard being fired off-screen several times during the first encounter with the Spinosaurus, but none of the rounds seem to hit their mark as the dinosaur appears unharmed.

Cooper fires the M82A2. While dirt is seen displacing when fired, it appears that the muzzle flash is enhanced with CGI. Note also edited muzzle flash and how the bolt is not cycling.

Steyr AUG

Co-pilot and mercenary Udesky (Michael Jeter) is seen armed with a Steyr AUG A1 assault rifle fitted with a 42-round magazine. It is rendered useless from the plane crash.

Heckler & Koch USP

A Heckler & Koch USP is seen in Udesky's vest holster. He is then seen in the background when the T-rex meets the Spinosaurus trying to draw out his pistol, but his pistol is stuck on his holster and disappears into the ground. It's a shame he lost it, it would have helped him out greatly later in the film.

Mossberg 500 "Cruiser"

Nash is briefly seen with a pistol grip shotgun slung over his back, likely a Mossberg 500 "Cruiser" when he rushes to start the plane.

M16A2 Rifle

The Marines who land on the beach of Isla Sorna are armed with M16A2 rifles. Many of them appear to have A1 style (teardrop) forward assist buttons (but in the late 1980s and 1990s these were common field repair items on A2s). Most are likely rubber props. Some of the extras exhibit proper gun safety training by keeping their fingers off the triggers, while others do not.

Orion Flare Gun

Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) finds an Orion flare gun and uses it to ignite the boat fuel around the Spinosaurus in the water, ending its attack on the group. It should be noted that in real life, submersion under water would render the flare too damp to fire. The weapon also has a black finish instead of the typical safety orange coloration.
