Shockproof (1949)

Shockproof (1949) was directed by Douglas Sirk (Imitation of Life) and written by Helen Deutsch and Samuel Fuller (The Steel Helmet). The movie is an unusual yet entertaining admixture of film noir (Fuller) and matinee melodrama (Sirk). The film starred Cornel Wilde, Patricia Knight, John Baragrey, Esther Minciotti, Howard St. John, Russell Collins, and Charles Bates. A parole officer (Wilde) falls in love with a parolee (Knight).
