Cast a Giant Shadow Kirk Douglas ), a Colonel in the United States Army and World War Two veteran, who agrees to act as an advisor for the Haganah during the 1948 War of Independence. Marcus, initially reluctant, becomes devoted to the cause as he confronts his attraction to a beautiful Jewish activist, Magda (Senta Berger ).
