Mississippi Burning
Mississippi Burning is the 1988 drama directed by Alan Parker (Midnight Express) that follows two FBI agents who travel to Mississippi to investigate the disappearance of three civil rights workers in the summer of 1964. The film is loosely based on a real-life FBI investigation The cast included Gene Hackman, Willem Dafoe, Frances McDormand, and Brad Dourif. FBI agents investigate the murders and run down the perpetrators in the face of hostility by local white bigots and fear from the African American community.
