ArmA III
File:Arma3-coverart.jpg
Release Date: TBA 2013
Developer: Bohemia Interactive Studio
Publisher: Bohemia Interactive Studio
Series: ArmA
Platforms: PC
Genre: Military-Simulation

ArmA III is an upcoming military-simulation video game developed and published by Bohemia Interactive Studio (BIS) exclusively for the PC. It is the third installment of the ArmA series, officially announced on May 19, 2011, and is built around the new Real Virtuality 4 engine owned by BIS. Release date for the game is to be announced during 2013.

The storyline is set in mid-2030s during an international conflict between the NATO and the Iranian Armed Forces in the Aegean Sea. The main protagonist is Captain Scott Miller, a former United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF) operator who becomes stranded on a 350km² fictional Mediterranean island called "Altis" (Based upon the 475km² Greek island, Lemnos), and must fight his way out by building an effective resistance force in the process and cooperate with the local population.

Traditionally with the ArmA series, the player will also be able to play with three more characters: Lieutenant Jeff Larkin, an helicopter pilot; Sergeant Rick Hutchinson, a (possibly) tank commander; and Corporal Ben Kerry, a light infantry soldier - all are serving in different units of the United States Army 7th Infantry Division (7th US Army Europe).

The following weapons are currently seen in early release footage of the upcoming video game ArmA III:

Handguns

Glock 17 (3rd Generation)

The tan-framed Glock 17 from ArmA II returns as the "PO7 9mm", and seen in early footage with and without a suppressor; used by NATO soldiers. There is a possibility that the name of weapon is referred to the CZ P-07 Duty, and for early development stages, the developers decided to reuse ArmA II's Glock 17 as a temporary place holder.

General Dynamics GAU-19/A

The GD GAU-19/A is seen mounted on the "Mi-48 Kajman" attack helicopter (derived from the Mi-28 "Havoc") used by the Iranian Armed Forces faction in-game.
