Sorry NOT a Gewehr 98

The Gewehr 98 doesn't have wood between the rear 'rollercoaster sight' and the chamber bridge. The rifle in the pics DOES, which makes it another Straight Bolt Mauser variant. MoviePropMaster2008 06:59, 8 February 2011 (UTC) (Edit) I did a check and it seems to match the M1908 the closest. If anyone has an alternate idea, I'm open to suggestions :) MoviePropMaster2008 07:37, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Can it be a Zhongzheng/CKS rifle? I didn't consider it initially because I had thought that the Zhongzheng rifle had a bent bolt, not a straight one. It would make sense in terms of the story and practically, since there there are probably thousands of these left in China. --Funkychinaman 20:20, 20 October 2011 (CDT)

Is it just me or does the front sight on the Marlin 1894C change from between being in front of the barrel band and behind it throughout the movie? --jeff sato 1:30, 16 May 2011 (EST)

Yes, you're right. --Funkychinaman (talk) 03:52, 14 October 2012 (EDT)

Mosin Nagant

It seems to me that the Mosin Nagant on the second screenshot is not 91/30 but rather original M91.

Note the shape of the stock and muzzle, the swivel and the position of the ramrod. All these features better correspond with original M91.

Japanese artillery

Does anyone have any idea what kind of guns these are? --Funkychinaman (talk) 04:48, 14 October 2012 (EDT)

Look similar to Japanese Model 94 mountain gun. The photo can be seen in TM-E 30-480: Handbook on Japanese Military Forces. Greg-Z (talk) 14:25, 14 October 2012 (EDT)
Thank you very much! --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:32, 14 October 2012 (EDT)
Always glad to help any way I can. Greg-Z (talk) 15:26, 14 October 2012 (EDT)

Of all the publicity stills they could've used...

...they use this one <shakes head>. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:53, 14 October 2012 (EDT)

OMG, what happened with the bolt? Greg-Z (talk) 15:26, 14 October 2012 (EDT)

Manchukuo Soldiers Weapons?

For anyone who has seen the film, I find it a bit hard to recognize the rifles that the Manchukuo Army soldiers carry on the train at the very beginning of the film (you can see them when they begin beating the man who is yelling about Korean Independence). I watch scene again and they appear as though they may be Arisaka, but I can not tell for sure as this moment goes very quickly. Perhaps the weapons are already listed, but I just wanted to be sure in case anyone knows.

Sorry I can not post screenshot, but I am not sure how I may do that on my television.

MSpirit01 (talk) 18:41, 28 October 2012 (EDT)

I'm pretty sure they were Arisaka's, which is why I didn't bother getting the screenshot, because I knew they had to be better shots later on in the film. I'll check again. --Funkychinaman (talk) 19:07, 28 October 2012 (EDT)
Looks like an Arisaka. --Funkychinaman (talk) 21:02, 28 October 2012 (EDT)
