The Horse Soldiers (1959)

The Horse Soldiers was the 1959 Civil War film directed by John Ford that starred John Wayne as a Union cavalry colonel who led a raid into Confederate territory in order to destroy a rail line. The film co-starred William Holden.

The following firearms were used in the film The Horse Soldiers:

Remington New Army (mocked up Single Action Army)

Col. John Marlowe (John Wayne) as well as other Union cavalry soldiers are seen using what are supposed to be Remington New Army revolvers. These revolvers appear to be Colt Single Action Army revolvers with a mock cylinder rod to resemble the Civil War era handgun. Similar mockups appear to have been used in John Wayne's 1970 film Rio Lobo.
