Smith & Wesson Model 14
The main weapon used in this movie is a Smith & Wesson Model 14 "target masterpiece" fitted with custom pearl grips . Stolen from Benny (Don Cheadle), Sam (Sean Penn) uses it to kill his wife's dog and during his hijacking of the plane. Unknown Smith & Wesson Revolvers
The security guards at the airport are carrying Smith & Wesson revolvers of an unknown model. They are most likely either Smith & Wesson Model 10s, Smith & Wesson Model 15s, or Smith & Wesson Model 19s. They could be a combination of the three. In the actual event Charles Troyer (an Anne Arundel County police officer on the jetway) injured Byck with a .357 Magnum taken from Maryland Aviation Administration Police Officer George Neal Ramsburg (Byck had just shot and killed him). Also, there were Police Officers trying to shoot the Plane tires before it could get off the ground, but their .38 special revolvers could not penetrate them.
