Gran Torino (2008)

M1 Garand

Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood) uses an M1 Garand that he kept from the Korean War to chase Thao Vang Lor (Bee Vang) out of his garage and scare the Hmong gangmembers off his lawn. Walt misfires it when slipping in his garage when he is chasing after Thao.

Thao asks if he can use Walt's M1 Garand to get revenge on the Hmong gang, but shows him right away his lack of firearms training as he breaks all three gun safety rules at once. That is, he didn't check to see if it was loaded, wrapped his finger around the trigger, and flags Walt with the muzzle.

M1911A1

Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood) uses a pre-war commercial M1911A1 (as evidenced by the blue finish) that he kept from the Korean War to aim at the "Spooks" to scare them away from Thao's sister Sue Lor (Ahney Her), and is seen carrying it around in many scenes. Walt carries it around in his belt without a holster.

Martin the Barber (John Carroll Lynch) jokingly pulls a Remington 870 shotgun on Thao (Bee Vang) when he doesn't properly ask for a haircut. Instead, he teaches Thao that when you greet someone as a "old Italian prick", you're liable to get your head blown off.

Walt grabs the Remington 870 shotgun and directs it away from Thao. Note the lack of trigger discipline. Although, considering the lack of focus, it is possible that he has his finger resting on the trigger guard. Despite his intentions were to scare Thao, aiming a loaded weapon at him in a ready to fire position is dangerous enough, but putting his finger on the trigger either shows the actor is an amateur, or Martin is one dangerous barber.

Colt Python

Spider (Doua Moua) is seen using a Colt Python at the end of the film.
