Kovrov Arsenal Flare pistol?

Isn't this the same flare gun?

Yes, it's the same one. Greg-Z 00:44, 20 November 2011 (CST)
WHy the difference in names? The Flare gun, btw, is sold all over the U.S. as the (russian imported) Kovrov Arsenal Flare pistol. Is that wrong? It also shows up in other places on IMFDB. Anyone who has a better understanding of the history of this flare pistol, please help us on the gun's page. MoviePropMaster2008 12:54, 20 November 2011 (CST)
SPSh is its official name that means "Signalny Pistolet Shpagina" - flare pistol designed by Shpagin. It was put in service in 1943 and used from that time in Soviet and Russian army and in armies of other states until today (it was modified at least once). Kovrov Arsenal produced this flare pistols and put its "trademark" on them. That's why SPSh it better known over the world as Kovrov Arsenal Flare pistol (the same thing as with some other Cold War era weapons). Greg-Z 13:10, 20 November 2011 (CST) P.S. Sorry for my poor English. Greg-Z 13:10, 20 November 2011 (CST)
