Chuck

In the future, when adding screenshots, please crop the black bars off before uploading. Also, please be specific about what episode a weapon you're describing was in. Namely, the apartment sofa armory is from what season and what's the episode name. Also, try to keep your comments in the captions to have some kind of relation to the screencap other than just a quote. --Ben41 22:05, 13 October 2011 (CDT) Thank You for the tips! I am a relatively new user and every little bit helps!

Burn Notice

Some of the production stills you uploaded for Burn Notice have a red border around them that needs to be cropped out. Please crop and reupload. --Ben41 17:15, 14 October 2011 (CDT)

K. I cropped and reuploaded the ones with black bars. I will start working on the red bars.

Burn Notice Production Stills

A lot of the screenshots you've uploaded for the Burn Notice page are in fact production stills that are not of uniform dimension and sometimes do not display the weapon prominently. Due to the already large amount of screenshots already on this page, please limit your screenshots to actual stills from the show that display the weapon in a different way than what's already there (such as a scope, shell holder or laser sight fitted on the weapon). Some of these shots therefore will be moved to the discussion page. --Ben41 17:48, 14 October 2011 (CDT)

Hey so I cropped the red lines off one of the images, and tried to upload a new version, but it won't allow me to. It just is the same image over and over. plus if I try to upload it as a different file, it says its a duplicate, which it is but without the red bars... thank you screenshot snipping tool fml >:/

Production Stills vs Screenshots

You're doing the same thing for Chuck as you did for Burn Notice. These appear to be production stills (photographs taken during filming) as opposed to actual screenshots taken from an aired episode. Because these production stills are generally have odd dimensions and causes the page to look awkward, please limit the number of production stills and specify that the image is a production still in the caption (ex. A production still shows Chuck holding the weapon.) Please in the future, try to upload more screenshots instead of production stills (unless the production still shows the weapon more clearly). Also, please upload the entire frame of the screenshot and not just a closeup such as of the trank guns (again because the dimensions will be off). --Ben41 02:31, 19 October 2011 (CDT)

OK thank you :) --Sergei Titov 20:19, 21 October 2011 (CDT)

Do you guys use DVD's / blu rays to get your screen caps? Because whenever I try to get ones from online streaming (like Hulu) the quality sucks... That's why I lean towards promo images because the photographer uses a flash that lights up the gun nicely whereas bad quality shot + low light filming = failure --Sergei Titov 21:30, 21 October 2011 (CDT)

Yes, DVD's, blu-rays and HDTV broadcasts are the best sources for television shows. Netflix is a better streaming source than Hulu because they often have the newer shows in HD. You can use a screencapture program like Fast Stone Image Viewer to capture sections of what's on your computer screen and then use the enhancement tools to brighten and sharpen the image. If you don't have these resources, I would ask that instead of more production stills, that you just reference the weapon on the page with a lot of detail regarding when the weapon was used and what episode (Season, title, and episode name would be greatly appreciated). Then one of the other users such as myself and others can put the screenshot up. --Ben41 01:42, 22 October 2011 (CDT)

Please no Cyrillic and screenshot limits

1. Due to the site being in English, cyrillic script is not allowed. Many computers cannot read this font and it appears as gibberish when seen. It could also be mistaken for spam and could be deleted. Please, english only on the site.

2. Please limit the amount of screenshots for one particular weapon. You've added a bunch of screenshots to the Chuck for the 5906, when there were already several of them.

3. Please avoid screenshots that have watermarks other than the network logo. It's obvious that several of the screenshots you uploaded were from a particular fan site. Although they were also screenshots from the episodes, we do our best to put up our own work and not just take someone else's.

Please take a look at the Rules, Standards and Principles page for some more guidelines. --Ben41 00:51, 23 October 2011 (CDT)

Replacing Screenshots

When overwriting a screenshot, you need to change the "500px" to "501px" in order to see the difference. Also, we limit the number of screenshots for one gun to 10. The preferred screenshots have no logos or watermarks on them. Please also limit your shots to ones that show off a difference of the gun, such as it having a suppressor or the gun in closeup.

Also, I changed the resolution of production stills on purpose (to make them different from screenshots), so please do not change them. --Ben41 02:22, 26 October 2011 (CDT)

Chuck Screenshots

Since I have the entire series on DVD, I'm most likely going to replace your screenshots since these all still have the NBC logo on the left. Instead of you going through the trouble of uploading screenshots in the future, are you there any other weapons that you were planning to upload? Just let me know and I'll put up the screenshot. --Ben41 20:47, 27 October 2011 (CDT)

Just got ur message, I added a few with the logo so sorry :( but I was about to upload a pic of sarah shooting the grappling pistol in "Chuck versus the Seduction Impossible" --Сергей Титов, Sergei Titov 20:52, 27 October 2011 (CDT)

You're not restricted, but it's preferred that users do their own screen captures. The ones you uploaded are just cropped versions of ones that are available from that site and the DVD's and HD versions are much better and cleaner. If you want to point out what episodes have weapons that are missed, than I would put that on the discussion page. Details such as what episode and season they're from are also good to include. --Ben41
