Assault Rifles

Batou's Rifle

Batou uses what resembles an IMI Galil ARM 7.62mm heavy assault rifle during the final fight. Again, some features are drawn incorrectly. Note that the entire chamber is different, while this does not have the kalashnikov style safety, nor any of the IMI's features. Also, an rounded magazine well and a shroud above a foregrip is non-existent in the original rifle. The bipod, by some strange occurrence, seems to be attached to the wrong side of the barrel (next to the chamber, instead of the gas offtake). This is based on the 7.62mm Galil sniper or Galatz , which has the bipod next to the chamber.

Shotguns

Seburo GONG

In the opening sequence of the film, Batou uses Seburo GONG with a heat shield added to the barrel to stop a homicidal and "suicidal" love doll. He also has the shotgun with him in the final scene. This particular GONG is the more streamlined rendition seen in more recent adaptations of Shirow's work, such as the 2004 Appleseed film.
