Used by the mother at the film's start, until it jams on Mr. Smith. (Clive Owen) He then calls the gun worthless and throws it away- this was a jab at James Bond, whom Owen was once supposed to play.

Smith and Wesson Model 29

A .44 magnum Model 29 is used by the Lone Man in several scenes. According to the director, his attachment to this gun is rather questionable as he take it with him in the bathroom often to "clean it". Greg Bryk, the actor playing the Lone Man was rather embarressed when he learned this fact while filming.
