Note that the shooter in this shot is left-handed, and that Jem aims an aforementioned USP compact with his left hand in another shot. This shooter might very well be Jem.

Jeremy Renner is left handed in real life, and shoots with his left hand in SWAT, 28 Weeks Later, and The Hurt Locker, so yep, it makes sense.
