F/X 2
F/X 2 is the 1991 sequel to F/X. Bryan Brown returns as Rollie Tyler, a now retired special effects expert who's called upon by the NYPD to perform one last effect to catch a suspect. When the effect goes awry, Rollie is once again on the run and has to get help from his friend and former cop Leo McCarthy (Brian Dennehy).

The Smith & Wesson Model 36 is carried by both NYPD Lt. Ray Silak (Philip Bosco) and Det. Mike Brandon (Tom Mason).
MP40
Fragments from the first movie (actually, from the movie filmed in the first movie) can be seen on tenevision, where Rollie is seen opening fire with an MP40.
Unknown compact pistol
Assistant DA Liz Kennedy (Joanna Gleason) is seen pulling this compact pistol during the final confrontation.
