Dark Blue is a 2002 cop thriller starring Kurt Russell as a third generation LAPD detective who investigates a quadruple homicide during the time of the L.A. Riots in 1992. The screenplay was written by David Ayer (Training Day) from a story by James Ellroy (L.A. Confidential).

Mossberg 590 Compact Cruiser

Detective Perry is armed with a Mossberg 590 Compact Cruiser as he goes to the house of Orchard and Sidwell in the climax of the film. It's outfitted with a saddle shell holder.

This is not a mossberg 590 compact cruiser. This is a costume mossberg 500 cruiser, in which Perry has cut down the barrel and has cut down the sliding forearm handle (a.k.a. the pump).
