The Man with the Golden GunThe Man with the Golden Gun - Internet Movie Firearms Database - Guns in Movies, TV and Video GamesThe Man with the Golden Gun
In the opening sequence, a mob hitman (Marc Lawrence) trying to assassinate Scaramanga uses a suppressed Browning Hi-Power (although the sounds of the pistol firing are unsuppressed).
Colt Detective Special
A Colt Detective Special is one of the many revolvers inside the locked cabinet that Francisco Scaramanga (Christopher Lee) reaches for during his gunfight with the mob hitman.
A Colt Python is seen to the far right in Scaramanga's cabinet.
Thompson M1928
The cyborg "Chicago Gangsters" inside Scaramanga's assassination rooms have Thompson M1928 submachine guns. The one which the hitman refers to as "Al" (Ray Marioni) fires at him with it.
Colibri Lighters Golden Gun
The Colibri Lighters Golden Gun is a special 4.2 mm gun that Francisco Scaramanga (Christopher Lee) uses to assassinate his marks. It uses special fragmenting bullets for maximum damage. Assembled from a pen, a cuff link, a lighter and cigarette case, it is very easy to conceal. This gun is Scaramanga's trademark. He kills the hitman with it in the opening sequence, and uses it throughout the movie.
custom-built bolt-action rifle
The armorer Lazar (Marne Maitland) shows Bond a custom-built bolt-action rifle he built for a three-fingered hitman. Bond later turns his gun on Lazar to get information from him.
Beretta 950 Jetfire
Andrea Anders (Maud Adams), when Bond encounters her in a shower, pulls a Beretta Jetfire on him, but is knocked out of her hand by Bond when he examines a box containing Scaramanga's gold bullets. It's a coincidnce that Andrea Anders uses a Jetfire, because Maud Adams uses one when she plays Octopussy several years later.
Walther PPK
The Walther PPK, 007's weapon of choice, is James Bond (Roger Moore)'s main gun throughout the movie.
The guards at Hai Fat's palace are seen wielding M16A1 assault rifles.
Derringer
Nick Nack (Herve Villechaize) holds a Derringer on Bond, causing Bond to quip about the originality of "a gun in a bag of peanuts".
Smith & Wesson Model 10
The Bangkok police that confront Bond and Sheriff J.W. Pepper carry heavy-barreled Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolvers.
Colt Single Action Army
As a tribute to the book, Scaramanga uses a gold-plated Single Action Army to shoot off a cork from the champagne that Nick Nack is delivering to 007 as he arrives at the Island. Scaramanga dismisses the revolver as a "harmless toy". It should be noted that in the novel the film is based upon, Scaramanga uses a gold-plated Single Action Army and not a custom gun.
"Solex Laser Gun"
A giant 'prop' gun, the Solex Laser Gun is a piece of Hollywood Fiction. It is seen obliterating 007's Republic RC-3 Seabee amphibious Seaplane and is purely custom prop work (with a healthy helping of Special effects). Originally, the script called for the laser beam to be a "golden beam of laser light". However, time and budget constraints prevented the effect from being fully developed, and the sequence was eventually shown with no beam at all, which lent some confusion to Scaramanga's line, "So you see, I now am truly... The Man with the Golden Gun." although this was more likely a reference to the guns power source, the sun.
