Talk:Watchmen (2009)
Opening Credits Massacre
The scene at the beginning of the film in which protestors placing flowers in the muzzles of M&P soldier's rifles before being killed is a mix between two famous (or infamous) events during the time of the Vietnam war. The placing the flowers in the muzzles of rifles was done by hippy rioters in M14 Rifles carried by M&P soldiers, as seen in this famous photgraph:
The use of the M1 Garand and opening fire on the rioters was based on the Kent State Shooting in 1970, when Nation Guardsmen (not M&P) opened fire on protesting students. There's a little history lesson for you.

Good job on that. I was gonna do it, but you did it much better than I could have. So, whoever you are, I salute you! -protoAuthor
- Oh, it was GM45, of course. Also, who took down the comparison comic book panel for the comedian's armory?-protoAuthor
The Unknown Rifles
If anyone out there has the Blu Ray version of the movie, perhaps a high def screen shot could shed light on that mysterious rifle.
