First-person shooter, stealth
XIII is a 2020 first-person shooter video game, a remake of the 2003 first-person shooter of the same name . While retaining the same story and gameplay of the original, the remake radically changed the art style of the original game, departing from the cel-shaded visuals the original is known for. This includes changes to the weapon models used in the game, which are now more detailed and much more closely resemble their real-life counterparts.
The following weapons appear in the video game XIII (2020) :
Handguns
Beretta 92FS Inox
The Beretta 92FS Inox appears as the game's standard handgun and is oddly equipped with a standard blued barrel. This update model replaces the stylized, Beretta 92-based pistol from the original game. The pistol incorrectly only holds 10 rounds in its magazine.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing American made Beretta 92FS Inox - 9x19mm
Error creating thumbnail: File missing XIII holds a 92FS Inox with a teacup grip, hammer pulled back and ready to fire.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Aiming.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Swapping magazines shows that new magazines have cartridges modeled in them, always nice to see. Note that the safety is on; for some reason, the safety automatically engages when the weapon runs dry.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Pulling the slide.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Out of ammo. Note the red magazine follower.
Beretta 92FS with Suppressor
Error creating thumbnail: File missing The weapon is held in XIII's hands, held the same way as the standard 92FS Inox.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing While aiming, you can't see the suppressor.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Ejecting an empty magazine.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Pulling the slide.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Out of ammo. Same animation as the primary weapon.
Beretta 92FS Akimbo
Error creating thumbnail: File missing XIII holds two handguns, because two guns is better than one gun.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Ejection of two magazines.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Both pistols held in the left hand. Inserting a new magazine with the right hand.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Out of ammo again.
Colt Anaconda
The Colt Anaconda returns from the original game, this time much more detailed. As in the original game, it is a very strong weapon, typically killing enemies in two shots. Available in virtually every mission.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Colt Anaconda with 8" barrel - .44 Magnum
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Holding the revolver with two hands this time as opposed to one-handed in the original game.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Aiming.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Opening the cylinder and ejecting empty shells.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Closing the cylinder with new cartridges.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Out of ammo.
Submachine Guns
Mini Uzi
The Mini Uzi reappears from the original. It now appears to have a stainless steel finish.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing IMI Mini Uzi with stock folded - 9x19mm
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Like the Anaconda, the Mini Uzi is now held with both hands. It also has an unfolded stock, compared to the Mini Uzi in the original game, which had a stock that was always folded. The weapon's icon incorrectly shows a full-size Uzi.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Aiming.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing XIII performs a Modern Warfare -esque reload when the Mini Uzi is empty.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Pulling the charging handle.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Out of ammo.
Mini Uzi Akimbo
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Mini Uzis akimbo. The weapon models are mirror images.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Magazine tapping on the magazine.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Pulling the charging handle with the off-hand gun during a reload.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Out of ammo.
Shotguns
Remington 870 Marine Magnum
The Remington 870 Marine Magnum returns, once again in much greater detail than its original counterpart.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Remington 870 Marine Magnum - 12 gauge
Error creating thumbnail: File missing The shotgun in hand.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing The picatinny rail has a cutout so that we can aim.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Preparation for charging.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Working the pump.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Out of ammo.
12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun
The 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun returns as well.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Stoeger/IGA Coach Gun Supreme Blue with Stainless Receiver - 12 gauge
Error creating thumbnail: File missing The shotgun in hand. Thanks to the remake's decision to go for a more life-like visual style, the double-barrel looks much more like a real side-by-side shotgun compared to the vaguely shotgun-y looking stick from the original.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Aiming.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing When loading after firing one barrel, XIII will replace one shell from the fired barrel and leave the unfired shell in place. You love to see it.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Here is an animation with an empty barrel.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Out of ammo, showing the side-by-side's well-worn stock.
Assault Rifles
AKM
The AKM replaces the Norinco Type 56 from the original game.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing AKM - 7.62x39mm
Error creating thumbnail: File missing An AKM in hand.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing XIII aims his rifle to confirm that he has an AKM this time around as opposed to a Type 56.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Replacing an empty magazine.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Pulling the charging handle. This wouldn't achieve much considering that the safety is on.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Out of ammo.
M16A1 with M203 Grenade Launcher
The M16A1 with its permanently fixed M203 Grenade Launcher replaces the original M16 from the original game.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Colt M16A1 with M203 grenade launcher - 5.56x45mm / 40x46mm
Error creating thumbnail: File missing M16 in hand. The M203 is now attached to the rifle with its proprietary handguard, as opposed to being simply glued on like in the original. The rifle is erroneously set to semi-auto, however.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Aiming.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing While inserting a new magazine, XIII finds that the M16A1 is now fitted with a 30-round STANAG magazine as opposed to a 20-rounder in the original, accented nicely by some orange tape.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Thumbing the bolt release.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Breaking the grenade launcher open...
Error creating thumbnail: File missing ...and inserting a new grenade.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Out of ammo. One could use it as a solid club in the meantime.
Sniper Rifles
SVD Dragunov
The SVD Dragunov reappears as the game's sole sniper rifle.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing SVD Dragunov - 7.62x54mmR
Error creating thumbnail: File missing SVD in hand.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing The view from the scope is the same as the one used on the crossbows. The SVD, however, provides 5x magnification. Crossbows have a magnification of 4x.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Tossing away an empty magazine.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Enthusiastically pulling the charging handle.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing The "out-of-ammo" animation shows that the bolt is apparently motorised as it cycles without the weapon actually being fired.
Machine Guns
Browning M2HB
The Browning M2HB is once again used an an emplaced weapon in some missions.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Browning M2HB - .50 BMG
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Taking up a static Browning
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Browning in hand.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing While aiming, the anti-aircraft sight is pulled out.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Pulling the handle to load a new cartridge.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing The weapon overheats; as with most video game machine guns, such a situation does not necessitate breaking up the action for a tedious barrel change.
M60
The M60 once again appears as a portable machine gun and one of the strongest weapons in-game.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing M60 machine gun with bipod folded - 7.62x51mm NATO
Error creating thumbnail: File missing M60 in hand. The original game's M60 was rather small in XIII's hands and the remake scales it up a bit.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Aiming.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Removing the old belt box. A full box holds 200 rounds.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Pulling the charging handle.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Out of ammo.
Launchers
Panzerfaust 3
The Panzerfaust 3 returns from the original game as the sole rocket launcher and once again referred to as a "Bazooka ". It is also once again depicted as a reloadable rocket launcher like an RPG-7 .
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Panzerfaust 3 with DM12A1 rocket and standard telescopic sight - 60mm
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Panzerfaust in hand.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Aiming. XIII is pleased to see the Panzerfaust has sights of some kind now.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Slotting a new rocket into place.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing XIII presses a mysterious red button on the side of the launcher; this appears to actually be the "F" marking for the safety on a real Panzerfaust 3.
Grenades
Mk 2 Grenade
The Mk 2 hand grenade returns, predictably functioning much the same as the original game's grenades.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Mk 2 "Pineapple" World War II-made High-Explosive Fragmentation hand grenade (sometimes written Mk II)
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Grenade in hand.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Pulling out the split pin.
Other
Crossbow
A crossbow returns as a weapon used for stealth sections.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Crossbow in hand.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing As is mentioned in the case of SVD, the crossbow has the same sight, but only providing 4x magnification.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing The bolt is inserted from the front and the string is immediately pulled.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Inserting the stretched string into the guides. The weapon is ready to fire.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Out of ammo.
Crossbow with a magazine
As in the original, a crossbow with a 3-bolt magazine can also be used in stealth missions.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Crossbow in hand.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Still the same reticle.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Ejection of an empty magazine.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Inserting a new magazine. A full magazine has 3 bolts.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing Out of ammo.
Harpoon Gun
A significantly more detailed handheld harpoon gun appears in the remake.
