The Outpost is a 2020 war film directed by Rod Lurie and adapted from the 2012 non-fiction book The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor by Jake Tapper. The film depicts the real-life Battle of Kamdesh, which occurred on October 3, 2009 when Taliban fighters assaulted U.S. Army soldiers at Combat Outpost Keating in Afghanistan's Nuristan Province, resulting in one of the bloodiest battles of the War in Afghanistan. The film stars Scott Eastwood as Staff Sergeant Clinton Romesha and Caleb Landry Jones as Specialist Ty Carter, who both earned the Medal of Honor for their actions during the battle.
The following weapons were used in the film The Outpost:
The M4A1 Carbine is used by nearly all of the U.S. Army soldiers at Combat Outpost Keating (COP Keating), including Staff Sergeant Clint Romesha (Scott Eastwood) fitted with a M203 grenade launcher and Specialist Ty Carter (Caleb Landry Jones). The M4A1 Carbines are all fitted with either Trijicon TA01 or TA31 ACOG scopes and side-mounted AN/PEQ-15 ATPIAL laser aiming modules.
Some of the U.S. Army soldiers at Combat Outpost Keating (COP Keating), most notably Specialist Ty Carter (Caleb Landry Jones) carry an unknown AR-15 carbine that is replicated to appear as an M4A1 carbine with the KAC quad rail handguard and LE buttstock, however these carbines feature a pencil M16A1 barrel, flat top upper receiver, brass deflector and an aftermarket/off brand forward assist which more or less closely resembles the Canadian C8A1 carbines

Note that his carbine has a pencil profile barrel instead of the stepped heavy barrel that is seen on genuine M4 carbines.
AK-47
The Taliban fighters who assault COP Keating are mostly armed with AK-47 variants. Local villagers and Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers are also seen with AK-47s.
Bulgarian Arsenal AR-F rifles are used by Taliban fighters. The presence of numerous Arsenal ARs is likely due to the fact that most of the film was shot in Bulgaria.
SSG Clint Romesha (Scott Eastwood) uses a SVD Dragunov sniper rifle taken from an Afghan soldier to engage an enemy sniper during the Battle of Kamdesh.
The Beretta 92FS, standing in for the Beretta M9, are used by the officers at the outpost, including Captain Benjamin Keating (Orlando Bloom), Captain Sylvanius Broward (Kwame D. Patterson), and medical officer Captain Chris Cordova (George Arvidson). Specialist Daniel Rodriguez (portraying himself) is seen using a Beretta 92FS when responding to the initial Taliban attack.
A Makarov PM pistol is seen in the hands of ANA Commander Zahid (Ahmad Sakhi).

Note that although Zahid is referred to as a commander throughout the film, the rank shown on his uniform is that of an ANA Sergeant First Class. Zahid is also wearing a CADPAT-pattern uniform rather than the Spec4ce Afghan Forest camouflage used by the ANA in real life.
Machine Guns
FN M240B
M240B GPMGs are used by U.S. Army soldiers while defending the outpost, most notably by Staff Sergeant Justin T. Gallegos (Jacob Scipio). SSG Romesha also uses a M240B during the Battle of Kamdesh.
A modified FN Minimi, standing in for the M249 SAW Paratrooper, is used by U.S. Army soldiers during the battle. The weapon appears to have been an older model FN Minimi with its barrel shortened and a paratrooper stock added based on the retention of the flared flash hider and straight carry handle, and is equipped with an Elcan sight.
Specialist Rodriguez attempts to detonate M18A1 Claymore mines during the battle as the Taliban overrun the mortar pit, only to have them fail to detonate.
