Regina King is an African-American actress well known for her roles in such films and series as Jerry Maguire, Ray, 24, and Enemy of the State in addition to her role as Det. Lydia Adams in the series Southland. She has received four Emmy Awards (the most for any African-American actor), two for her role in the series American Crime, one for her role in the Netflix series Seven Seconds and one for her role in the HBO adaptation of Watchmen. In 2019, she received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the 2018 film If Beale Street Could Talk.
