In this Corner of the World (この世界の片隅に) is a 2016 anime movie directed by Sunao Katabuchi (Black Lagoon) based on the manga of the same name by Fumiyo Kono. In 1943, Suzu Urano moves from Hiroshima to Kure and marries Shusaku Hōjō, an employee of the Kure naval base. The young couple lives a simple and decent life until the town is rocked by air raids two years later. Although the war threatens to destroy Suzu's built-up existence, the young woman manages to savor the finer things in life through courage and perseverance.
