Genre:
Action-adventure, Beat'em up
Sleeping Dogs is a 2012 action game developed by United Front Games and Square Enix London, published by Square Enix, about a Hong Kong-born Cop who returns there from the United States in order to infiltrate the local Triad in a bid to bring them down.
The following weapons appear in the video game Sleeping Dogs:
The AMT Hardballer is available in the game by wearing Agent 47's outfit from the Square Enix Character Pack DLC. Is fitted with a suppressor.
Heckler & Koch USP
The Heckler & Koch USP appears in two different variants in the game. One chambered for 9x19mm and the other is chambered for .45 ACP. The 9mm variant is used by many Triads early in the game. Wei first receives one to reenact a shootout at a crime scene. It is also the standard sidearm of HKPD uniform officers, despite the real Hong Kong Police Force use Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolvers as standard sidearm. The .45 variant is used exclusively by Triads in later missions and are first encountered during the Club Bam Bam shootout. Many of the .45s are outfitted with underbarrel flashlights.
IMI Desert Eagle Mark I
The signature weapon of Winston Chu, a Son On Yee "red pole" and leader of the Water Street Gang, most dramatically when he shot a suspected informant in the head; and Ponytail. After Winston's death, Wei uses it during a shootout in the nightclub, and it spawns in his apartment each day when the game has been completed if the 'Ghost Pig' DLC is installed.
"Rico's Signature Gun" (Just Cause)
The revolver used by the main character of Just Cause and Just Cause 2, Rico Rodriguez, is available in the game by wearing Rico's outfit from the Square Enix Character Pack DLC. Is fitted with a usable grenade launcher.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP7
The MP7 is a common weapon for Triad shooters, and is often given to Wei whenever a mission requires gunfire from a moving vehicle.
Heckler & Koch UMP9
A Heckler & Koch UMP, with a few small and a couple of large cosmetic changes. The weapon features a seemingly bent UMP shoulder stock, a MP5 forearm and the fictional taclight that also appears on the Assault Rifle and Semi-Auto shotgun. Despite being labeled as the ".45 Submachine Gun," the curvature of the magazine seems to be modeled off of the curved magazine of the 9MM UMP variant. Is also used by HKPD despite using the older MP5 variants in real life.
Assault Rifles
Fictional Bullpup Heckler & Koch G36E
The weapon that serves as the games resident assault rifle appears to be a fictional Bullpup variant of the Heckler & Koch G36E. It has also been given a non-descript taclight in some instances.
Fictional L85A2 with AG36/L123A2 Grenade Launcher
With the Tactical Soldier Pack downloaded, Wei Shen can find himself a shiny new assault rifle in his apartment every day. It appears to be a fictional version of the L85A2 with a modified Heckler & Koch AG36 (L123A2 in British parlance) grenade launcher attached. The rifle itself is missing the standard iron sights, and has gained some picatinny rails and a large trigger/handguard. The grenade launcher is missing the pistol grip. Is also used by a 18K goon in "The Funeral" and Wei in "Civil Discord".
FR-27 Sanction Flechette Rifle (Deus Ex fictional weapon)
The FR-27 Sanction Flechette Rifle, a fictional weapon from Deus Ex: Human Revolution, is available by equipping Adam Jensen's outfit in the Square Enix Character Pack DLC.
Shotgun
Hawk Semi-Auto
The Semi-Auto variant of the Hawk appears in the game as the "Anti-riot Shotgun." It holds 10 rounds in each magazine. This shotgun is used is used by many 18K Triads in the later shootouts of the game.
Hawk Type 97-1
The Hawk Type 97-1 appears as the "Pump Action Shotgun". It is fitted with a pistol grip. It can be obtained from the trunk/tailgate of HKPD cruisers, and used by riot control officers who will chase Wei if he has attacked any police officers or killed a number of civilians. It is occasionally used by Triad gangsters during shootouts, but they prefer the semiautomatic Hawk.
Grenade Launcher
Milkor MGL
The Milkor MGL is a weapon available with the "Year of The Snake" DLC. Is called either "Tear Gas Launcher" or "Crowd Disperder". Is pulled out of a police cruiser trunk during a riot in Soho. As the name indicate, the launcher shoot tear gas rounds.
Others
GE M134 Minigun
The DLC vehicle "DZB-90" from the "Wheels of Fury" DLC is fitted with a pair of GE M134 Minigun. The hold 200 rounds before needing to reload.
