The Last Cartridge (Ultimul cartuș) is a 1973 Romanian crime movie directed by Sergiu Nicolaescu. It is a direct sequel of With Clean Hands (Cu mainile curate) (1972) and depicts the work of Chief Commissioner Mihai Roman (Ilarion Ciobanu) to avenge the death of his friend Commissioner Tudor Miclovan (Sergiu Nicolaescu) that happened in the final scene of the previous movie.

The following weapons are seen in the movie The Last Cartridge (Ultimul cartuș):

Revolvers

Smith & Wesson Victory Model

Afted the death of Tudor Miclovan (Sergiu Nicolaescu) Mihai Roman (Ilarion Ciobanu) takes Miklovan's Smith & Wesson Victory Model revolver with one last bullet. The revolver is used by Roman in the final scene to avenge Miclovan's death. Same revolvers are also seen in hands of various criminals.

FN Model 1905 (Spanish Eibar version)

A pocket pistol, most likely a Spanish, Belgian or Czech version of FN Model 1905, is used by Mihai Roman (Ilarion Ciobanu) in the scene when a trio of criminals hold childs in kindergarten as hostages. Another FN 1905 style pocket pistol, this one nickel plated with pearl grips, is used by the crime boss Constantin Semaca (George Constantin) in the final scene.

PPS-43

One of the trio of criminals who hold childs in kindergarten as hostages carries a PPS-43 submachine gun. It has a stick magazine of straight shape, not the curved one. This magazine is supposed to be taken from MP40 and fitted to PPS-43 (what actually happened with some of the guns captured during WWII by the German army and converted to 9mm; anyway, this SMG doesn't fire in the movie). Some sources claim that a version of PPS-43 with a straight magazine was manufactured in China but it's not a veraciously.

Trivia

Error creating thumbnail: File missing
According to the story, the cartridge in Mihai Roman's hand is the last one from Miclovan's revolver. But it looks more like a 7.62x25 Tokarev than a .38 Special.
