Midnight Run Robert De Niro as Jack Walsh, a former Chicago cop now working as a bounty hunter who has to endure a cross-country trip with Jonathan "The Duke" Mardukas (Charles Grodin ), a bail-jumping bookkeeper he was trying to bring back from New York to Los Angeles in order to collect his fee. During their journey across the country, the duo find themselves pursued by both the FBI and the mob. The film was directed by Martin Brest and co-stars Yaphet Kotto , John Ashton , and Dennis Farina . The film would also inspire several made for television films that starred Christopher McDonald as Walsh.
