Shane is a 1953 Western movie directed by George Stevens and based on the 1949 novel Jack Schaefer. The film stars Alan Ladd as the title character, a mysterious gunfighter who befriends a homesteader and his family and subsequently finds himself facing down a evil land baron and his band of gunslingers. The film would later be nominated for 7 Academy Awards, winning the award for Best Cinematography. Shane would later be referenced in such media as 1998's The Negotiator, the series Everybody Hates Chris as well as 2017's Logan.
The following weapons were used in the film Shane:
Shane (Alan Ladd) carries a 7 1/2" Single Action Army Cavalry Model with a nickel finish and ivory (actually plastic) grips with engraved horse heads. In the climactic scene the SAA revolver is replaced with a Colt Police Positive (see below) in order to show the classic gunslinger fast shooting in Hollywood fashion.
Jack Wilson (Jack Palance) carries two Single Action Army Civilian Model revolvers with deep blue finish and faux mother-of-pearl grips. Like with Shane's revolver, one of Wilson's guns was replaced with a Colt Police Positive revolver in the climactic scene.
Chris Calloway (Ben Johnson), one of Rufus Ryker's henchmen, carries an SAA revolver in holster. While this is an 1873 model, the shape of the grip frame defines it as being a Bisley model, first available in 1894 and, therefore, rather anachronistic.
Rufus' young brother Morgan Ryker (John Dierkes) carries a revolver in holster. It is most likely a Single Action Army.

The grip length readily identifies the revolver as having an 1860 Army grip frame. It may be a conversion of an 1860 revolver or it may be a Model 1873 fitted with the longer grip frame(Hollywood actors with large hands sometimes had the longer grip substituted as it was more or less interchangeable. One more of Rufus Ryker's henchmen (uncredited) carries a Single Action Army with deep blue finish and white grips.
A Colt Police Positive with 6" barrel and same finish and grips as Shane's Cavalry SAA revolver is used as a "stunt double" in the climactic scene. In same scene Jack Wilson's revolver is substitued with a blued version of Police Positive with more common 4" or 5" barrel.
Joe Starrett (Van Heflin) takes out an ivory handled Colt double-action when he's about to go after Ryker. The revolver Joe appears to be a Colt 1877 DA Lightning. Most likely it is not a genuine Colt but one of its clones, like Belgian produced version known as Cowboy Ranger: the revolver has a slide safety below the hammer that doesn't exist on original Colts; also the wide grip in SAA style is uncommon for Colt 1877 DA. These Belgian revolvers were sold in the US by sellers like Sears and Montgomery Ward up until the mid 1920s.
In the climactic scene Rufus Ryker (Emile Meyer) draws a revolver. It is seen very briefly but what is seen allows to make a guess that the revolver is a Colt 1860 Army with Richards Conversion.
During a confrontation with Jack Wilson, Stonewall Torrey (Elisha Cook Jr.) pulls out a revolver that appears to be a nickel plated Colt 1872 Open Top.
Townsman Yank Potts (Howard Negley) carries a nickel plated revolver in holster. The shape of the grip allows to identify it as a Smith & Wesson Schofield, and due to the size of the holster, the revolver is short-barreled.
When Morgan Ryker (John Dierkes) is seen walking upstairs to stay hidden, he is armed with a rifle that looks like Henry 1860 but actually is a visually modified Winchester Model 1892, with removed handguard. Such props are common in Western movies due to the lack of genuine Henry rifles.
Joey Starrett (Brandon De Wilde) carries a .22 rimfire Stevens Crackshot around to play with, but his father won't give him any rounds for it because he is too young. When Joey works the lever while Shane is there, he whips around, ready to draw his pistol before realizing the situation.
When Joe Starrett (Van Heflin) talks to Morgan Ryker about meeting his brother Rufus he is seen carrying a Double Barreled Shotgun with exposed hammers.
