The successor to 2015's Star Wars Battlefront, Star Wars Battlefront II brings the first- and third-person action shooter gameplay to the wider Star Wars universe, incorporating the Clone Wars of the original games and the First Order - Resistance War of the new trilogy. Published by EA and primarily the work of DICE, Battlefront II also features a single player story made directed by Motive Studios, and offline arcade and split screen modes for consoles.
Although the game lacked a season pass, the incorporation of microtransactions that allowed players to gain an advantage in gameplay upon the game's release was a huge subject of controversy (prompting government-level responses against gambling by Belgium, the Netherlands, and the US State of Hawaii). The system was quickly disabled and eventually overhauled to a linear progression system in the 2.0 patch. Unlike the last game, the multiplayer also incorporates a familiar four-class system of "Assault," "Heavy," "Officer," and "Specialist" and further refined specialty classes, vehicles, and heroes depending on the faction.
Many of the game's blasters are almost-identical virtual replicas of the prop weapons used in the films of the original trilogy, and a few of the new weapons created by DICE appear to have been based off of real-world small arms.
The following weapons appear in the video game Star Wars Battlefront II:
The default sidearm of the Grand Army of the Republic, the DC-17 is a large blaster pistol built on the frame of a Desert Eagle. The ARC Trooper special class dual wields a pair of DC-17s.
BlasTech DH-17 Blaster Pistol (Sterling L2A3)
The Sterling SMG-based DH-17 pistol is one of the first weapons used in the single-player story and is the starting sidearm of Officers of the Rebel Alliance.
BlasTech DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol (Mauser C96)
Han Solo wields his iconic DL-44 in-game. Unlike the previous game, it is not available for use by regular soldiers in multiplayer.
Blurrg-1120 (Luger P08)
The second unlockable pistol of the Officer class is the "Blurrg-1120" holdout blaster. Although it is a completely fictional design in default form, the "Reduced Recoil" upgrade replaces the original pistol grip with that of a Luger P08.
Resistance officers carry the Glie-44 pistol by default, which is built on the frame of a SIG-Sauer P226.
Sonn-Blas SE-44/SE-44C Blaster Pistol (Glock 17 in FAB Defense KPOS)
The Sonn-Blas SE-44 blaster pistol from The Sequel Trilogy appears in the game in two forms - the "SE-44," which is the model issued to First Order Officers and then the white-clad "SE-44C" model that is the final blaster unlock of the Officer class. Both are modeled off a Glock 17 in the FAB Defense KPOS carbine conversion chassis with the stock removed and a conical muzzle end.
Theed Arms Security S-5 Heavy Blaster Pistol (Feinwerkbau C55 Model Air Gun)
The first unlockable blaster for the Officer class is the "S-5 Heavy Blaster Pistol," the sidearm of the Theed Security Forces from A Phantom Menace. It is modeled off the Feinwerkbau CS5 air pistol.
X-8 Night Sniper (Walther PP)
The embellished Walther PP that is Lando's sidearm in the new canon returns from the previous game, though as with the DL-44 it is exclusive only to Lando now.
Blaster Rifles, Heavy Blasters, and Targeting Rifles
BlasTech A180 Longblaster (WE Luger P08)
The sniper configuration of Jyn Erso's Luger P08-based blaster from Rogue One is the standard issue targeting rifle of the Resistance.
BlasTech A280C/A280-CFE (MCG Replica M16)
Appearing as the default blaster rifle of the Rebel Alliance, the "A280C" now more closely resembles the M16-based blaster prop from Return of the Jedi although it has the tube frame stock of the StG-44 variant shown below. A sniper variant is also available to the Specialist class as its second blaster unlock, known as the A280-CFE.
BlasTech A280 and DLT-20A (StG-44)
The "A280C" from the previous game returns simply as the "A280" and is the first blaster unlock of the Assault class. It still closely resembles the StG-44-derived A295 rifle seen on Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back. The A280 also fires in three-shot bursts this time around. Bizarrely, the "Improved Cooling" specialization gives it a 20-round M16 magazine and the "Improved Range" specialization replaces the barrel assembly with that of a Karabiner 98k, cleaning rod included.
The Sturmgewehr 44-based DLT-20A Pulse Cannon also returns, this time as a conventional "Targeting Rifle" and issued to Rebel markswomen.
BlasTech DLT-19 Heavy Blaster Rifle, DLT-19X and DLT-19D Targeting Rifles (MG34)
The MG34-based DLT-19 series of blasters returns in Battlefront II. The base variant is used by Imperial heavies, while Scout Troopers wield the -19X sniper version and First Order sharpshooters wield the new -19D variant.
BlasTech E-11 Blaster Rifle (Sterling L2A3)
Imperial Stormtroopers are issued with the full-size Sterling SMG derived E-11 Blaster Rifle.
The Heckler & Koch G36C-based "EL-16" blaster from the new trilogy is the starting blaster in the "Resurrection" storyline and for Resistance troopers. The "EL-16HFE" variant is the final unlock for the Assault class, and can be modified with a G36-like stock, extended muzzle, or dual-zoom scope.
Corellian Arms CR-2
The "Corellian Arms CR-2" is a blaster seen in use by the Naboo Security Forces from The Phantom Menace and is the second unlock for the Assault trooper class. It is closely modeled off the Calico M950A and it's upgrades include parts from the other Calico series guns, including the collapsible stock and front sight from the M100 model.
EE-3 Blaster Carbine (Webley & Scott Flare Gun)
Boba Fett continues to wield his signature Webley No. 1 Mark 1 flare gun-based EE-3 burst fire blaster rifle. It is also no longer available to regular infantry.
IQA-11 (Accuracy International AWM)
The "IQA-11" is first blaster unlock of the Specialist class, and is a heavily embellished Accuracy International AWM retaining its signature squared-off action and bolt and green stock.
M-45 Repeating Ion Blaster (M60)
The "M-45" blaster, based on the original M60 machine gun that appeared as a door-gun in Rouge One, is a heavy blaster seen in the "Resurrection" timeline levels and as the Resistance gunner's default blaster.
NT-242 (Barrett M107)
The briefly-seen Barrett-based laser rifle from a bounty hunter in Maz's cantina in The Force Awakens is the final unlock for the Specialist class. It understandably deals high damage per shot and overheats after a few rounds, and can be upgraded to deal even more damage to vehicles with an ion-shot barrel.
RT-97C Heavy Blaster Rifle (MG15)
The heavily dressed up MG15 machine gun from A New Hope also returns from the last game and is the Rebellion's default heavy blaster and is used by the Imperial jet trooper.
Bossk returns from the prior game, armed with the Schermuly Multi-Purpose Gun laden with twin Sherman tank gunsights. It is also not usable by regular troopers in-game.
Sonn-Blas F-11D Blaster Rifle (Sterling L2A3)
The Sterling SMG-based blasters are the default blaster of First Order Stormtroopers. Captain Phasma also wields her signature chrome-plated F-11D.
Valken-38X (FG 42/MG 42 hybrid)
The Clone Trooper Specialists' starting blaster is a mix of the first pattern FG 42 with the barrel assembly of the MG 42, the end result somewhat ironically matching what the real world FG 42 was originally envisioned as.
The heavily truncated Lee-Enfield No.1 MkIII* returns to Battlefront II, but is now a Star Card weapon tied to the Specialist class as the "Repulsor Cannon" and fires a powerful shockwave that knocks enemies off their feet.
"Scan Dart"
A starting gadget of the Assault class, the "Scan Dart" launcher appears to be made from the frame of a Glock pistol and has a low-hanging stock that is made from the rear sight trunnion and synthetic handguard of a modern AK-74 rifle.
Scatter Gun (Franchi SPAS-12)
The "Scatter Gun" star card weapon from the last reappears, this time as a pump action blaster with a proper spread of pellets that can be equipped for a limited time before being put away on a forced cooldown. It is tied to the Assault class's Vanguard star card in multiplayer.
Rocket Launcher (M20B1 "Super Bazooka")
The modified M20B1 "Super Bazooka" with the blast cone from a M1 from the last game returns as the "Rocket Launcher." It can be found in crates in the campaign, and is available to the Aerial jetpack trooper classes in multiplayer and arcade modes.
