NecroVisioN is a 2009 FPS videogame set in 1916 during World War I. The player takes the role of Simon Bukner, a young American soldier recently recruited into the British Army. In addition to German soldiers, Simon soon finds himself fighting supernatural forces, including vampires, demons, and zombies found in locations varying from the battlefields of World War I to secret laboratories and underground caverns. The main setting is the battle of the Somme, during which a rumor of a mysterious infection has appeared, which causes all people to turn into zombie-like state. Later, the game takes the player into two new settings; the underground realm of Vampires, and the demonic realm, Hell.

A prequel entitled NecroVisioN: Lost Company was released in 2010. It features Jonas Zimmerman as the protagonist, and shows him fighting against demonic invaders during the war, slowly discovering the vampire tech. He eventually fights against a powerful golem, who guarded the Shadow Hand, but is corrupted by the demonic powers.

Both games have almost identical weapons and graphics, so weapons from both games will be together - with notes about which game is which, of course.

The following weapons are used in the game NecroVisioN:

Sidearms

Colt M1911

The Colt M1911 is the standard sidearm for the player character. The player character can use two Colt M1911s simultaneously, or combine it with the Luger P08 or other weapons. The weapon incorrectly operates in double action, as in many games.
In the "Lost Company", however, this weapon does not appear in the game, and can be obtained only through the cheat codes.

Luger P08

The Luger P08 appears as the second pistol in the game. Weaker than the Colt M1911, but the magazine is placed 8 rounds. The player can use two Luger pistols simultaneously, or combine it with the Colt M1911 and other hand weapons.

Sub Machine Guns

Bergmann MP18

The Bergmann MP18 submachine gun is carried by some German soldiers in the game. It is a common misconception that the MP18 wasn't introduced until 1918 with the Ludendorff offensive. However, this is not the case as there are reports that it arrived on the battlefield (albeit in small numbers) as early as 1916.

Rifles

Mauser Gewehr 1898

The Mauser Gewehr 1898 is a standard-issue rifle carried by ingame German soldiers, just as in the real-life WWI. It can attach an 1898/05 bayonet, as well a scope, and the Karabingranate M1914 Rod Grenades. It cannot be reloaded with stripper clips ingame, instead the player character inserts one round after another. This could be done in real life, but practically the stripper clips were used whenever possible. It is likely the game developers implemented this so they would not have to program in separate reload animations for scoped and unscoped variants of the rifle, since scoped versions would obstruct the use of stripper clips to reload.

Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III

The Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III is a starting rifle of player, and carried by other British soldiers. Surprisingly the reloading is accurate, something seen very rarely in video games. A 10-round magazine reloads via two 5-round stripper clips, player must have discharged at least five rounds before inserting a single clip, and must completely empty the weapon to fully reload it. Can be equipped bayonet. Also available with sniper scope, and with rifle grenade launcher.

Automatic Rifles

Browning Automatic Rifle

In the prequel "Lost Company", Browning Automatic Rifle appears as the new weapon. Besides player, it aslo use in game by American tank crews and Scottish soldiers. It is always seen with its leaf sight raised. It should be noted that Zimmerman never pulls the charging handle when reloading. Its appearance is for sure anachronistic, because the game set in 1916. At that time, BAR was probably still in development, because it was not seen a public demonstrated until 1917.

Shotguns

Winchester Model 1897

The Winchester Model 1897 used only by player. It has the 5 rounds magazine. Oddly enough, the shotgun is often found in the German trenches and fortifications, despite the Germans attempting to have shotguns banned from use in WWI. The hammer is incorrectly uncocked during use, despite the weapon being single-action only.

Machine Guns

The Maxim MG08/15 - portable machinegun, used by German stormtroopers. A player may take two machine guns at once. In the game also appears mounted version of MG08/15 (with a typical for videogames infinite ammunition). They can be used by enemies, and by the player.
In the "Lost Company" introduced a new version of portable MG08/15 - with built flamethrower. It also is used by the player and enemies.
