The Poet

The Poet Poet ) is a Soviet 1957 (filmed 1956) historical drama directed by Boris Barnet . The story is set during the Russian Civil war in a town on Black Sea coast. Two friends, gifted poets have to choose their side in the war: Sergey Orlovskiy (Vsevolod Larionov ) becomes White Army officer, while Nikolay Tarasov (Sergey Dvoretskiy ) joins Reds and supports their struggle by his poetry.

Revolvers Nagant M1895 Nagant M1895 revolvers are widely used by both Reds and Whites, notably Red sailor Nikolay Afanasyevich Tzaryov (Nikolay Kryuchkov ), Revolutionary Committee (Revcom ) activist Olga Danilova (Izolda Izvitskaya ), and White Army Poruchik (Lt.) Sergey Vasilyevich Orlovskiy (Vsevolod Larionov ) and White Army Col. Andrey Vasilyevich Selivanov (Ivan Koval-Samborsky ). The revolvers appear to be of post-1930 version.
