The Dragon Dentist (龍の歯医者, Ryū no Haisha) is a 2017 two-part anime TV special directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki (Assistant director of Neon Genesis Evangelion). In the realm of dragons, war is raging between two neighboring nations. In this conflict, a dragon plays a crucial role, fought by a treaty tied on the side of the one nation and left battlefields in ruins. But such overpowering creatures as dragons have a devastating weakness: their teeth. To ensure that they do not suffer harm and are not eaten away by the caries mushi, creatures that regularly form in its mouth, the military was placed under a special unit of volunteers who only care for the dragon's teeth - the so-called Dragon Dentists. One day, after a sea battle, Nonoko finds in the dragon's tooth an unconscious boy soldier from the enemy country. His name is Bell, and he has been resurrected from inside the tooth by the dragon—a supernatural phenomenon that legend says occurs before a major disaster. As Nonoko and Bell go through a series of fierce battles, they eventually learn to accept their fate.
The following weapons were used in the anime series The Dragon Dentist:
Enemy regular infantrymen use Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk.III* rifles with fixed Pattern 1907 Bayonets. Some Allied soldiers can be seen also with SMLEs during the battle.
The Dragon Dentists are seen with flamethrowers to clear the Dragon's teeth from harmful bacteria. The fuel tank looks similar to a Kleinflammenwerfer M.16 while the grip could be of a M9.
