The Heat Sandra Bullock as FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn, who is forced into an unlikely partnership with Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy ), a very rough Boston Police Department detective in order to take down a notorious criminal. The film was directed by Paul Feig, who had worked with McCarthy in the film Bridesmaids .
