Grazhdanin nachalnik is a Russian 2001 detective TV series. Investigator of town prosecutor's office Pavel Nikolaevich Pafnutyev (Yuriy Stepanov) confronts local organised crime net, from ordinary robbers to corrupt high rank officials.
The series was followed by two sequels in 2005 and 2006.
Note: the original title cannot be translated to English. While "grazhdanin" means "citizen", and "nachalnik" means "chief" or "superior", a direct translation of the whole phrase is senseless. "Grazhdanin nachalnik" is a Russian language idiom meaning law enforcement personnel. It comes from the form of address adopted from the early Soviet times between law enforcers and arrestees or convicts. The usual form of address in the USSR was "Tovarish" (comrade), and "Grazhdanin" (citizen) was used in cases where it was necessary to emphasize the legal distance between people.
The following weapons were used in the television series Grazhdanin nachalnik:
PM pistol is a service sidearm of the main character of the series, investigator of town prosecutor's office Pavel Nikolaevich Pafnutyev (Yuriy Stepanov). PMs are also used by Militsia Maj. Shalanda (Sergey Serov) and some minor characters.
PB
In one scene a criminal lawyer Ilya Ilyich Ogorodnikov (Avangard Leontev) uses a PB suppressed pistol.
PSM
Andrey (Egor Beroev) widely uses a PSM pistol that previously belonged to a criminal businessman Ilya Goldobov (Vladimir Zaytsev). The white marking on the slide allows to identify the pisol as non-lethal version, most likely rubber-firing PSM-R (also known as MP-78-9TM) or gas- and rubber-firing IZh-78-9T.
TT-33
One of Bayramov's henchmen uses a TT-33 during the attack on hospital. Sergei Zvenigorodtsev alias "Zombi" (Aleksey Pushkin), an amnesiac former journalist, picks up this pistol and uses it later. Gang boss Mikhail Rakhimovich Osadchiy alias Rakhimych (Tagir Rakhimov) and his henchmen also use TT pistols.
Walther PPK (Denix replica)
In one scene Pavel Nikolaevich Pafnutyev (Yuriy Stepanov) disarms a criminal Vladimir "Vovchik" Neklyasov (Sergey Taramaev) of a Walther PPK pistol. This pistol appears to be a non-firing Denix replica rather than a live gun.
CZ 82
A CZ 82 is used by corrupt Militsia Capt. Leshyov (Aleksey Oshurkov), known among criminals as "Vobla". Later Leshyov's pistol is used by Kolya the Afghan (Vladimir Vdovichenkov).
Submachine Guns
Sa.26
Rakhimych's gang members use Sa.26 SMG in several scenes.
Assault Rifles
AKS-74U
AKS-74U assault rifles are used by Militsia personnel and criminals.
AKMS
One of Marat Bayramov's (Gennadi Vengerov) gang members, disguised as militsioneer, carries an AKMS assault rifle. AKMS are also used by Militsia personnel.
9A-91
Militsia special unit members are armed with 9A-91 assault rifles.
In one scene a Western movie is shown on TV. It appears to be Wyatt Earp (1994).
Single Action Army Cavalry Model
Winchester Model 1873
Trivia
Holsters
Militsia Lt. (Gennadi Solovyov) carries a TT-33 holster instead of standard service PM. Nevertheless the grip of pistol in holster matches a PM, not a TT.
