District B13
District B13 is a French Action film, released overseas under the name Banlieue 13. There are 55 distinct weapons used in this film.
The following guns appeared in this movie:
Handguns
Beretta M92F
Beretta M93R
- Seen during the fight in the gambling den, one of Montoyas' men fires a full auto pistol that strongly resembles the pistol used by RoboCop and also used in Underworld: Evolution. Most likely a Beretta M93R with a custom extended front end, though this is an educated guess based on general shape and usage in other movies.
IMI Desert Eagle
Ruger KP94DC
Along with his Baby Eagle 9mm, Taha also keeps a Ruger KP94DC 9mm handgun ( a stainless steel model of the Ruger P94 fitted with a decocker) that 's fitted with a small laser pointer right in front of the trigger guard as one of his personal pistols. It's later taken by Leito and used for the rest of the film.
Sig Sauer P220 Pistols
- Tomaso grabs a pair of Sig Pistols during a fight. The full size and large aperture of the barrel would indicate a big caliber like a .45 acp, so the assumption is that they are P220s.
SIG P228 pistol
- Since the SIG pistols are supposedly stolen from the French National police, they should be SIG Pro SP 2022 or 2009 pistols, but they are probably Sig P228 pistols since they don't have the integral rail of the 2022 or the 2009 pistols used by the French.
Heckler & Koch Mk 23 Mod 0 Pistol
Both Gangster K2 (Tony D'Amario) and Heroine Lola (Dany Verissimo) use Heckler & Koch Mk 23 Mod 0 Pistols (.45 acp).
Glock 18
- Captain Damien Tomaso (Cyril Raffaelli) uses a pair of Glock 18s fitted with 33 round magazines to destroy Gangster Montoya's prized automobile.
Glock 32
- Elite French Police Captain Damien Tomaso (Cyril Raffaelli) uses a Glock 32 - chambered for .357 sig. Since Glocks all look alike the only reference to this caliber is a French language article which mentions the actor using a 357 pistol. Since the character never touches a revolver or a Desert Eagle, and that this is a French movie with a French Armorer, I am assuming that his Glock is a Model 32.
Glock 33
- Though Tomasos' pistol is supposed to be a compact G32 in some of the scenes he seems to be firing a subcompact Glock. Since he is using the same ammunition (in the movie) it should be the Subcompact Glock 33.
Taurus PT92 (Nickel plated)
- Used by the horrifying Carlos Montoya, who looks more like a character out of Sin City than a French underworld Boss, carries what looks to be a nickel plated Taurus PT92.
Beretta Inox
- Used by one of Taha's main henchmen, he has a large Stainless Compensator attached to the end.
Heckler & Koch USP
- Early on, gangster K2 pulls two handguns out of a shopping bag filled with H&K USP pistols. Later a H&K USP is used by yet another of Taha's henchmen.
Smith & Wesson Performance Center Model 629
- K2 holds two handguns, one of them a Smith & Wesson Performance Center Model 629 - .44 Mag.
Taurus Raging Bull
A French gang leader uses a Taurus Raging Bull to threaten Tomaso after he crashes his police van.
Jericho 941
- Taha has a second pistol on his desk, which appears to be a Jericho 941 with a custom port cut into the slide.
AP9
Submachine Guns
Mini Uzi
Micro Uzi
Heckler & Koch MP5
Heckler & Koch MP5K
- Seen many times with Montoyas', K2s' or Tahas' henchmen.
Skorpion SA Vz 61
AR15 Pistol/SMG
Ruger MP9
Beretta M12
Shotguns
Remington 870 Express
- Two of K2's henchmen is armed with a Remington 870 Express: one fitted with a nickel plated finish and a sawed off version fitteed with a muzzle break. One of Leito's guards has a sawn off version fitted with a taped foregrip and ribbed barrel.
Ithaca Model 37 Stakeout
Mossberg 500
- Two leito's guards are armed with Mossberg 500: one a Persuader model and another one a 500AT model.
Double Barreled Shotgun
Franchi SPAS 12
Assault Rifles
FAMAS-F1
- The FAMAS-F1 was used by the French National Police who are guarding the barricade to District B13
FN P90
- Used by French Security Police at the barricades.
SIG SG-550
- One of Taha's bodyguards fires a full sized SIG SG 550 rifle with a red dot sight and a cheek pad on the buttstock and twin magazines clamped together "Jungle style".
SIG SG-551
- Some of Taha's henchmen are armed with SIG SG 551 Assault Rifles. Some of them also have 40mm grenade launchers under their SIG SG551 rifles as well.
SIG SG-552
SIG SG-540
Norinco Type 56
One of Taha's Guards is armed with a full stock Norinco Type 56.
Galil ARM
Steyr AUG
- Used by Taha's guard to the elevator.
Steyr AUG w/16" barrel
- Used by a henchmen in the army of henchmen.
Heckler & Koch G3
Besides their FAMAS assault rifles, the French National Police also use Heckler & Koch G3 assault rifles fitted with wide "tropical" forearms.
FN FNC
Wieger STG2000C
This is a Chinese type 56C weapon. The STG2000C does not have the dimples over the magazine nor a cleaning rod or bayonet under the barrel. Also, Chinese weapons have enclosed front sights. The STG2000C's front sight is more open than that.
- WRONG! again! The enclosed hood of the Chinese AKs are a completely different front sight than this gun. This gun is a combo front sight and gas block so it is a new design. Also the Romanian style folding stocks don't FIT on the Chinese guns, the dimensions are different. As I said before, this is the EUROPEAN version of the STG2000C (which is what the US IMPORTER calls the sporter version of this gun) that is imported in the U.S., except I don't know what the European gun is called.
Though one may think it is a German (formerly East German) Mpi-KMS-72 it is not, nor is it an AK104. It is the current European commercial variant of the Wieger STG-940. The STG-940 was built between 1980-1988. The 940 was the 7.62x39mm version and the 942 was the 5.56mm Version) This version is a heavily modified version of the new STG-2000. There is an American import model with a 16" barrel and a full stock. The European version of the STG-2000C has an m16 birdcage flash hider right in front of the gas block (12" Barrel) and an East German AK style side folding stock. The version in the film has removed the German Wieger fore-end (which made it difficult to identify) and replaced the M16 Style flash hider with a traditional AK muzzle nut. The movie gun's Wieger foregrip was replaced with traditional AK Black Synthetic foregrip furniture (which is non-standard on the Wieger commercial rifles).
OK. For all of you who may not be "into" AK 47 rifles and their variants, what you are looking at is a Romanian AIR. It's chambered in 5.56mm and is (was) Romania's answer to the Russian AKS-74U (Krinkov). I can see how someone would confuse it with a modified STG-941, but the front sight base of the two rifles are completely different.
AKS-74U
AKS-74U Underfolder (?!?!)
- Yes, one of the henchmen holds a AKS-74U style of weapon with a 5.45x39mm magazine (!) but it has an Underfolding stock. It was probably a 5.45mm underfolding AK that was chopped down by an armorer and had the Krinkov front end installed. There are lots of weird custom jobs in the movie gun world, and 'Frankenstein guns' appear from time to time.
Note: Before the last server crash, someone posted here what sort of gun it was. That information was lost when the page reverted to the last version. If that user is still on IMFDB, I would appreciate them posting again, what type of weapon they thought it was. Thanks MoviePropMaster2008 21:57, 23 November 2008 (UTC) -With the waffle magazine and the underfolding stock, it could possibly be the 7.62x39mm AR-SF produced by Arsenal of Bulgaria.-Markit
- It's not a 7.62x39mm gun. Look at the magazine. It's either a 5.45 or a 5.56 magazine. MPM
Colt Model 733
- Actually a "733 looking gun". Being a French film and the fact that French Armorers always do strange things with their guns, we see what looks like a Colt Model 733 Short barreled Assault rifle. However the barrel looks a little too long to be the 11" for the real 733 and too short to be the 14" for the 653, so it seems to be an intermediate length barrel (which means it's a custom barrel job from a real M16 carbine). It is seen briefly when Taha's men storm out of the building.
M16A2
- Seen in the gangs weapons warehouse.
Ruger Mini-14
Some of Taha's henchmen can be seen holding standard full sized Ruger Mini 14 rifles in factory configuration.
Unknown Police Sniper Rifle
- Since the only angle of this weapon is down the barrel it's hard to tell. It looks to be a .308 with a heavy barrel weight/muzzle brake mounted at the end. Possibly an FRF2.
Ruger AC556-SS
- Seen in the gang headquarters scene, a gang member wields a stainless Ruger AC556 with a shortened barrel in a black synthetic stock.
Mystery Gun
- Don't know what this is.
Front sight reminds me of an Uzi, the rest is a bit reminiscent of a UMP. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's an Uzi with a rail above the charging handle. It could also be a SPAS12 with the stock folded.
- Why would anyone put a rail on the top of an Uzi when that's where the charging handle is? How would one rack a round into the chamber if a rail was covering the handle? Thanks for the suggestion though. I checked against my Uzi and My SPAS and it isn't either one of those. So I'm still stumped. :) MoviePropMaster2008 03:42, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- it can be a franchi PA3, a shorted version of the franchi PA8 and spas 12 series
- The cocking lever and butt plate are consistent with that of the Sapnish Z84 9mm submachine gun. Look into it.
Machine Guns
M240B
- M240Bs are used at gangland checkpoints and are also mounted on pickup trucks during a chase through the city. Being Europe these are most likely FN MAGs outfitted to look like M240B Machine guns (which have features that were requested by the U.S. Military).
Quad AAA Gun
- Some sort of Quad Barreled Anti Aircraft Artillery gun is seen at the gang's headquarters.
It's a south african uzi clone.
Grenade Launchers
SIG GL 5140 grenade launcher
- The standard 40mm Grenade Launchers for the SIG series of Assault rifle are the GL 5040/GL 5041 launchers, built by Swiss Arms. These are seen attached to SIG SG551s throughout the film.
Deftech 37mm Launcher
- A French police officer carries a Deftech 37mm Tear Gas Launcher with top folding stock.
