The Revenge (literal translation of the original title Mest) is a Soviet 1960 comedy movie directed by Irina Poplavskaya and based on the story by Anton Chekhov. Lev Turmanov (Mikhail Yanshin) finds out that his wife Polina (Lyudmila Kasatkina) is in love affair with Turmanov's best friend Fyodor Degtyaryov (Georgi Vitsin). Turmanov plans a cunning trap for Degtyaryov, thinking that in result the latter would be arrested for blackmailing and would commit suicid, being dishonored. But the trap goes wrong.
