M3 SLAM

The SLAM (Selectable Lightweight Attack Munition) is an American multi-purpose landmine produced between 1992 and 2002 by Alliant Techsystems. The SLAM is an explosively formed penetrator (EFP) weapon and has four possible modes of detonation: bottom attack, side attack, timed demolition, and command detonation. In bottom and side attack modes the SLAM will detonate if its selector switch is altered after arming as an anti-tampering measure.

There were three current variants when production was terminated: the M2 SLAM has no markings and becomes inert after the end of its active period (4, 10 or 24 hours), the M3 SLAM can only be used in command detonation mode, and the M4 SLAM has a black-painted warhead face and detonates at the end of its active period (4, 10 or 24 hours). Presumably the M1 SLAM had none of these features.
