A year has passed since the events of Sword Art Online (Season 1), and Kazuto Kirigaya (Username: "Kirito") is living peacefully back in the real world with Asuna Yuuki (Username: "Asuna"). However, he is recruited by Seijirou Kikuoka of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Virtual Division to investigate in a series of killings in the Virtual Reality MMORPG game Gun Gale Online. A player calling himself "Death Gun" is suspected of causing the deaths of two GGO players via shooting their avatars in the game, somehow coincidentally causing their real bodies to suffer an acute heart attack. Can Kazuto reveal the secret link that leads to death via the Virtual World, or will he himself become a victim of "Death Gun"?
The following weapons were used in the anime series Sword Art Online II:
A player named "Death Gun" uses a Norinco Type 54 "Black Star" as his sidearm, which he uses to supposedly murder players in Gun Gale Online. A Type 54 was also used by a bank robber who was disarmed and killed with it by Shino Asada (Username: "Sinon") five years before the main story.
Kirito uses an FN Five-seveN as his sidearm accompanying his Kagemitsu G4 photon sword. Sinon's HUD symbol for her sidearm, which is a Glock 18C, is occasionally misrepresented as a Five-seveN.
Sinon uses a Glock 18C with a 33-round magazine as her secondary weapon, replacing her original source incarnation's H&K MP7. Oddly, her HUD shows an FN Five-seveN instead until it is corrected in episode 5.
A sign for a gambling mini-game in Gun Gale Online has an M1911A1 on it. Endou, a school bully, later tries to use an airsoft M1911A1 to extort money from Shino.
A Calico M900 in the long barreled, semi automatic carbine configuration without the M951 style foregrip is wielded by Yamikaze. Sinon refers the Calico as an "ultra-lightweight machinegun, the Calico M900A".
A player participating in the Bullet of Bullets preliminary matches is seen with an SMG or some sort slung over his shoulder, likely WWII-era or earlier.
The M4A1 can be seen used by Arashi as his main weapon; in the source material he was referred to as "the one with the M4". M4 images are also seen in the GGO Market.
XeXeeD is seen with an FN F2000 paired with the GL-1 under barrel grenade launcher and standard low zoom optical sight, said to be a rare and very good weapon in GGO.
Musketeer X wields a scoped Mk 14 Enhanced Battle Rifle as her primary weapon. Kirito later picks it up and uses it to provide cover fire for a downed Sinon.
BOB Tournament competitor Shishigane appears to be wielding a Browning M1919. The source material states he uses only a Jatimatic SMG (to save weight for other equipment, such as armor), however this weapon is clearly not that.
"Death Gun"'s main weapon is a suppressed Accuracy International Arctic Warfare Magnum. According to Sinon, it's called the "Silent Assassin" in-game for its attached suppressor and very good performance. In the novels it's expressly and repeatedly referred to by its British military designation of L115A3.
The weapon shop in GGO shows only silhouettes and images of the weapons available for purchase, with a weapon materializing upon being purchased by a player. As such, there is a large quantity of firearms that only appear in image form, and these are grouped here for the sake of not flooding the rest of the page with duplicate images and single-image entries.
Weapons shown in the market are grouped by weapon type, with pistols, SMGs/PDWs, assault rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, and hand grenades being shown. For the generic silhouette images, each category has four individual models, reused enough times to fill up the board; the silhouette models shown are as follows: Pistols:Nambu Model 60, Beretta 92FS, Colt M1911A1, H&K USP SD. SMG/PDWs:H&K XM8 Compact Carbine, H&K MP5A3, H&K MP5N with tactical light forend and reflex sight, KRISS Vector. Assault Rifles:Colt R0635 (likely because AR-based), AK-47 with scope rail mount, H&K G36C, Colt M4A1 with Aimpoint sight. Shotguns:Maruzen CA870 CQB, two unknown shotguns, Benelli M4. Sniper Rifles:SVD, M40A5, unknown rifle, SMLE. Rocket Launchers:Carl Gustav M2, Mk 153 Mod 0 SMAW, M72 LAW, RPG-7. Hand Grenades:M26, M67, MK3, M116A1 training grenade.
Error creating thumbnail: File missingThe main promotional image for Bullet of Bullets features a silhouette of a player holding a rifle. It resembles a short-barrel M4-type fitted with a large scope and sling, but it's hard to tell for sure. (Ep.1)Error creating thumbnail: File missingAn advertisement for a gun shop, featuring a model holding a two-tone SIG-Sauer P239. Also note the crossed revolvers on the shop's logo, likely Single Action Armys. (Ep.4)Error creating thumbnail: File missingA promotional image featuring an FN P90 floats by Sinon and Kirito. In the spin-off novel series Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online, main character Karen Kohiruimaki (Username: LLENN) uses a pink-painted P90. The latter half of the spin-off author's pen name, Keiichi Sigsawa, is derived from "SIG-Sauer"; he previously helped as a technical advisor on this very story arc of the anime. (Ep.4)Error creating thumbnail: File missingA wide shot of the market; in the shotgun section, top to bottom, the Maruzen CA870 CQB (airsoft), two unknown shotguns, and Benelli M4 are visible. Also note the giant holographic M16A2, which features a large bulky handguard. (Ep.4)Error creating thumbnail: File missingA close-up of the above shot, better showing the sniper rifles which feature, top to bottom, the SVD, M40A5, an unknown rifle, and the SMLE. (Ep.4)Error creating thumbnail: File missingThe Colt R0635, two AK-47s, and G36C (M4A1 is visible in full room shot), plus a detailed image of an AR-15 variant being looked at by Kirito, as Sinon explains why assault rifles are heavier than SMGs, despite being lower-caliber. Or rather, as Sinon attempts to explain the history of the development of the M16 family first. (Ep.4)Error creating thumbnail: File missingSinon and Kirito pass by the section, which is only seen in this shot. The XM8 Compact Carbine, MP5A3, MP5N, and KRISS Vector are all seen here. (Ep.4)Error creating thumbnail: File missingAnother angle of the main part of the market, giving a better angle on the pistols; top to bottom they are the Nambu Model 60, 92FS, M1911A1, and USP SD. (Ep.4)Error creating thumbnail: File missingThe grenades are seen as Kirito activates his Kagemitsu G4 photon sword; by column they are the M26, M67, MK3, and M116A1 training grenade.
