Talk:State of Decay

From Internet Movie Firearms Database - Guns in Movies, TV and Video Games
Jump to navigation Jump to search

This article is an early WIP at this time. I'll continue work on it to bring its quality in line with its quantity. For anyone unfamiliar with the game, there really are this many guns in it, all modeled and textured, and since loot is randomized it may take a while to get screenshots of them all. I've already had some other players agree to help me with this.

For reference, here's the full list of weapons in the game. As in most video games, most of the weapon names are obfuscated (probably due to licensing concerns). Any weapon name in the article that's currently in italics is an in-game name that I've yet to positively ID.

Also, the game's recently released DLC, Breakdown, adds a further 31 weapons to the total, I'll add those to the list soon, and I'll need to decide how to go about it. Should I add them to their relevant categories (pistol, rifle, etc.) with a note that they're DLC additions, or add them to a separate section at the bottom? If anyone has any opinions one way or the other, or an example of how this particular problem is handled in another article here, I'd like to get your input! --MattyDienhoff (talk) 03:24, 6 January 2014 (EST)

im happy to see a page of this game finally on imfdb (i only wish i could make one for land of the dead road to fiddlers green) --Swedishgunbrony

Would the Snub Special 22 actually be a Colt Banker's Special? It's a variant of the Detective Special that was made in .22 LR and .38 S&W. Not many were made in .22, but it's a real model that I believe looks identical to the one in the game. Chitoryu12 (talk) 17:54, 17 August 2015 (EDT)

Good catch, it could well be. Here's an old advertisement for the Banker's Special. It certainly looks very similar to the one in the game to me. --MattyDienhoff (talk) 18:06, 17 August 2015 (EDT)

Year One Survival Edition

So, I ended up buying this after a year of not playing the original and found a couple of new firearms, in addition to the base game having the DLC weapons ported over. There are new underbarrel weapons as well as 'CLEO' special weapons only found in the new CLEO supply drop quests.

  • M203s mounted onto some weapons (heavily customized SKS', AR-15s)
  • CLEO revolver (looks like a Chippa Rhino 40DS with compensator and some sort of RDS)
  • CLEO LMG (a KAC LMG with custom decals)
  • (more to come as I play the game.......) -- SSgt LuLZ 13:54, 15 February 2016 (GMT)
    • The D1911 becomes a two-tone variant in the YOSE--Bauer2121 (talk) 11:55, 25 January 2017 (EST)
  • I found a CLEO DMR which looks like some kind of AR-derivative. Has a 20 round magazine, is limited to semiauto, has a scope for enhanced zoom, and for no readily apparent reason also has a really unfortunate yellow finish. There's also a new grenade launcher apparently based on the H&K XM25. --That's the Way It's Done (talk) 22:34, 12 October 2017 (EDT)

Tac Master 1911 and D 1911 - Corrections?

So I've been working recently on the State of Decay page and correcting stuff, and I noticed something with the D1911 and Tac Master 1911 on what they seem to be based on. Now from the looks of it, the D1911 and Tac Master 1911 don't really resemble to what the page accordingly appears to be. So, I've did some searching around and I found two guns that I think resemble to what they are. The only thing is, I want to know what you guys think of it and if it should be corrected or not.

D 1911

Now recently, I've updated my thoughts about the D 1911 and the following guns could be what is the supposed true model of that pistol.

Yes? No? What do you guys think?--WerewolfNightmare101 (talk) 17:59, 10 October 2016 (EDT)

Friendly reminder: You should sign your posts on talk pages by writing --~~~~ after your messages. That way it's easier to read because we can see who said what. Anyway, in regards to your question, I'm really no expert on all the different 1911 variants but your suggestions do look like closer matches than what's currently listed on the page. If you feel confident that you're correct, feel free to make the change. :) --MattyDienhoff (talk) 10:05, 10 October 2016 (EDT)
I think you are correct, so go ahead and alter the page. The "D 1911" looks like the Kimber Target in black.--AgentGumby (talk) 10:14, 10 October 2016 (EDT)
Terribly sorry about not signing my posts, it's a habit that I have. Anyhow, I will do edit on the D 1911... but what do you guys think about the Tac Master 1911. Any thoughts about that one before I edit the page?--WerewolfNightmare101 (talk) 16:23, 10 October 2016 (EDT)
I'd agree that it's a Kimber tactical pro. Same general shape, barrel's the same length, and the grips got the same texture. So yeah, probably a Kimber Tactical Pro. --Bauer2121 (talk) 18:13, 10 October 2016 (EDT)
Alright, thanks for the thoughts! Time for me to edit the page. Also if you are wondering about the section titled Year One Survival Edition, there's some news guns included... however, not only I don't have YOSE yet, but I am still searching for a way or a mod to include the new guns and such. At the same sense, I'd be nice if Undead Labs like most of the in-game images, would provide us with images of the new guns in-game. Time will tell I guess.--WerewolfNightmare101 (talk) 18:19, 10 October 2016 (EDT)--Bauer2121 (talk) 11:50, 8 November 2016 (EST)

I'd actually argue that the D1911 is a SW1911 variant, mainly due to the insignia on the grips of it.

Note the slide serrations and sights match the Kimber though, and it doesn't have that magazine foot either.--AgentGumby (talk) 01:55, 13 December 2016 (EST)
