Luke Cage is the television adaptation of the Marvel superhero comic book of the same name. Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the series follows Luke Cage (Mike Colter), a former convict previously introduced in Jessica Jones, who due to a sabotaged experiment, now possesses super strength and unbreakable skin. Set to premiere in September of 2016, Luke Cage is the third of four original series set in the MCU that will highlight Marvel's "street-level" heroes, who will eventually unite for a 2017 Netflix miniseries "The Defenders".
