Christmas Rush (released on video as Breakaway) is a 2002 made for TV action movie directed by Charles Robert Carner and starring Dean Cain, Erika Eleniak and Eric Roberts. Chicago PD Lt. Cornelius Morgan (Cain) is temporary resigned from service after he accidentally wounded a bystander during the shootout with criminals. To make things worser, the victim sued for a large sum, and all these lead to a conflict between Morgan and his wife Catherine. In the last day of Christmas Rush Morgan visits the large shopping mall where Catherine works. There he encounters a group of robbers, lead by Morgan's old acquaintance Jimmy Scalzetti (Roberts). Now Morgan is the only man who can stop the robbers and save people taken as hostages, including his wife.
Note: while the story is set in Chicago, the movie was filmed in Winnipeg, Canada, that affects the choice of screen guns.
The following weapons were used in the film Christmas Rush:
In the opening scene Lt. Cornelius Morgan (Dean Cain) uses an M1911-style pistol with adjustable sights.
Unidentified M1911-style pistol 2
One of the handguns, carried by Scalzetti's henchman Simulus (Santino Buda), appears to be an M1911-style pistol with adjustable sights. Morgan later uses this pistol.
Unidentified M1911-style compact pistol 1
During the events in the shopping mall Morgan uses a compact M1911-style pistol with double-stack magazine. It looks similar to Springfield Ultra Compact High-Capacity pistol but the ammo in magazine resembles 9x19 rather than .45.
Unidentified compact pistol 2
Rich Rajinsky (Roman Podhora) also carries a compact pistol.
Beretta 92FS
Simulus (Santino Buda) also carries a Beretta 92FS pistol. When Simulus is defeated by Morgan, the latter takes both pistols and uses them several times. In the climactic scene the Beretta is used by Cat Morgan (Erika Eleniak).
In the opening scene Phan Wu (Tommy Chang), the leader of Ghost Dragons gang, is armed with a Beretta 93R. He fires the pistol in full auto mode, holding it single-hand.
Various handguns
In several scenes security guards, including their chief Al Quigley (Chris Benson), carry holstered pistols and revolvers. When a group of guards are disarmed by the robbers, their handguns are taken by Wayne
(Bernard Browne), Kid (Richard Yearwood) and Joyner (Angelo Tsarouchas), though none of them use these guns.
Submachine Guns
Mini Uzi
During the shootout in the opening scene one of the Ghost Dragons uses a Mini Uzi.
During the events in the shopping mall Morgan (Dean Cain) who runs out of ammo for his pistol enters a sporting goods shop, breaks the stand with rifles and shotguns and takes an Ithaca 37.
Valtro PM5
In the opening scene a police officer holds some long gun with a large box magazine and fixed stock. It resembles a Valtro PM5 shotgun.
Unidentified shotguns
In the opening scene several police officers carry pump action shotguns.
Kid Blast (Richard Yearwood) carries a customized IMI Romat with shortened barrel and converted to full auto.
Olympic Arms K23B
After Kid's IMI Romat runs dry, he throws it away in favour of an M16 carbine, fitted with Beta-C magazine. It appears to be a customised Olympic Arms K23B with removed front sight.
Wayne also uses a smoke grenade that looks like an M83, or an M8, or an M18. All these grenades have same outlook except for the markings. The screen grenade lacks any markings.
The Stand in Sporting Goods Shop
About a dozen of rifles and shotguns is seen on the stand in sporting goods shop.
