There then ensues a pursuit through Atlanta. It ends with Boots taking a hostage and attempting to use a transit bus to escape. It appears that one of Billy Score ([[Henry Silva]]) is also using a suppressed [[High Standard HDM]]. It was difficult to get a good image of the pistol, but it was a 22LR pistol (though the sound effect was that of a much larger caliber weapon). When Score opens his briefcase there is a brief shot of the pistol and a box of Winchester 22LR inside the case. Handguns
Colt Government Model
The Colt Government Model is used by the Atlanta City Police detectives throughout the movie. It's identified as a Government Model simply because there is no way to determine if the production used a Series 70, old mil-spec 1911A1's etc. Unless somebody can get in touch with the armorer from the production that is.
Smith & Wesson Model 29
A Smith & Wesson Model 29 44 magnum revolver with a 6.5" barrel is used with very impressive results by the drug dealer Murray Boots (Lamar Jackson) at the beginning of the movie when Sharky (Burt Reynolds) is attempting to buy heroin from him during an undercover operation. Another officer drives up onto the buy and the whole operation goes to hell. There then ensues a pursuit through Atlanta. It ends with Boots taking a hostage and attempting to use a transit bus to escape. Of course he fails.
Smith & Wesson Model 15
At the end of the movie ,when the cops are closing in on the main villains in the Peachtree Hotel in downtown Atlanta, one of the uniformed officers is seen with what appears to be a Smith & Wesson Model 15 revolver.
Colt Python
Sharky (Burt Reynolds) uses a Colt Python with a six inch barrel during the botched drug buy and subsequent gun fight at the beginning of the movie.
Colt Diamondback
Sharky (Burt Reynolds) has a Colt Diamondback with a 4" barrel in the bag with the drug buy money. The drug dealer Murray Boots (Lamar Jackson) identifies it as a Diamondback. He takes it from Sharky when the corrupt police officer drives up onto the buy and blows Sharky's cover. However the Diamondback is empty. Sharky's real piece is a Colt Python that he is carrying on his person.
High Standard HDM
It appears that one of Billy Score (Henry Silva) is also using a suppressed High Standard HDM. It was difficult to get a good image of the pistol, but it was a 22LR pistol (though the sound effect was that of a much larger caliber weapon). When Score opens his briefcase there is a brief shot of the pistol and a box of Winchester 22LR inside the case. At first I thought it might be a Colt Woodsman until I was able to capture a shot of the pistol used by Billy (Henry Silva) when he kills an undercover cop (Val Avery)and the prostitute(Suzee Pai)who is with him.
Shotguns
Over & Under Double Barreled Shotgun
The hitman Billy Score (Henry Silva) uses a cut down Cut Down Over & Under Shotgun to kill a prostitute and one of Sharky's partners. At one point it is identified as being a 12 gauge. The shotgun appears to be a Browning Over & Under Shotgun, but I can't confirm this.
Unidentified Shotgun
At the beginning of the movie, during the dramatic shootout on an Atlanta city bus between Sharky (Burt Reynolds) and Boots (Lamar Jackson), an unidentified shotgun is briefly seen in the hands of another detective following the bus taken by Boots.
