This was the third and decidedly the best of the various filmed adaptations of Dashiell Hammety's classic detective novel, which included a 1931 feature film adaptation and 1936's Satan Met a Lady.

Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket
Webley-Fosbery Automatic Revolver
It should be noted in the film the gun is said to be a .45 caliber eight shot, when in fact it is the .38 caliber model which holds eight rounds. The .455 version holds six. Production had stopped on the Webley-Fosbery at the time of the film.
