The Island of Dr. Moreau is a 1977 screen adaptation of same name science fiction novel by Herbert George Wells. The film is directed by Don Taylor and starring Burt Lancaster, Michael York and Nigel Davenport. It is the second adaptation of the novel (the first was Island of Lost Souls (1932), and the third - The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996)).

Montgomery (Nigel Davenport) owns an M1917 Enfield rifle. Braddock (Michael York) takes Montgomery's rifle when he travels in jungles; he also uses the rifle in the final scene. Maria (Barbara Carrera) is briefly seen with this rifle in the final scene.
