I added a brand, but I do not see much sense. I do not have a movie yet, and if it had someone else and could finish, it  finishes not, because he would think that just working on it! I'll give you an example of another one, pal. Even in the days of communist rule I got on VHS movie Enemy with my favorite Tia Carrere in main role. It was about the third copy - the colors fell out and the outlines were unclear. For 25 years this movie not  on DVD in Czech Republic! But in the US yes, and so too in Germany! On the net is a lot of people what he can for ridiculous a few euros to buy and do screens. I therefore suggested a title and waited, waited - in vain! How possible it? --Pandolfini (talk) 12:38, 24 July 2015 (EDT)

Sig-Sauer P229 on The Blacklist

I am pretty sure that is a P229 E2. See these two pictures, one from The Blacklist and one from NCIS: Los Angeles--Coltmth (talk) 17:56, 24 September 2013 (EDT)

Demonym

I was on the fence on this one. But doesn't "Filipino" refer to more than just the people? A few months ago, I swapped out "Belgium Produced" for "Belgian Produced," so the intention was to follow that. I'll dig around a bit. (Some of the help desk guys at work are in the Philippines, I guess I could just ask them the next time I call.) --Funkychinaman (talk) 08:52, 2 October 2013 (EDT)

Makes sense, I'll change it back. --Funkychinaman (talk) 09:26, 2 October 2013 (EDT)
I just changed it. I'm trying to get rid of the -Produced/Filmed categories and replace them with just -Produced since the /Filmed part is a bit misleading. --Funkychinaman (talk) 10:14, 2 October 2013 (EDT)

Picture

Love the Sergeant Hatred cosplay. I'd do a Venture Brothers page in a heartbeat if I thought it was at all eligible. --Funkychinaman (talk) 12:44, 2 October 2013 (EDT)

Agents of SHIELD screenshots

Could you please reupload the screenshots you had previously uploaded for Agents of SHIELD with new filenames? Comparing screenshots, I would prefer to use yours than the ones that are currently up (yours appear to be sharper, despite the image size). Please rename your screenshots with the season and episode numbers before reuploading, such as for Season 1 Episode 1, you could put "MAOSS1E01 xxx". That way, it's easier to keep track of what episode the screenshots are from. I'll delete your previous screenshots once you've done these. Thanks. --Ben41 (talk) 14:34, 3 October 2013 (EDT)

AKS-47 image

The reason was only that it was a more straight on taken picture, the other one is a bit more angled. --Thejoker (talk) 15:40, 8 October 2013 (EDT)

And I believe the older is actually Bulgarian-made, hence an AKKS.
I found this 1 and I believe it's the same weapons as the pictures are identical, thats why I'm sure it's an Bulgarian AKKS. --Thejoker (talk) 16:39, 8 October 2013 (EDT)
Okey. --Thejoker (talk) 18:16, 8 October 2013 (EDT)

Batman revolvers

I think you are absolutely right, Thanks! Have you got any opinion about my ideas about the revolvers used in Octopussy that I posted on Jcordells talk page? --Thejoker (talk) 20:33, 8 October 2013 (EDT)

Okey, well it was a big help anyway! By the way I've checked around and the gun in the picture labeled as Arminius HW-9ST is actually called the Arminius Windicator Allemagne, there is also one similar called Arminius HW-357 Target Trophy. --Thejoker (talk) 20:46, 8 October 2013 (EDT)
Sorry, you are right, I spoke too soon! Well big thanks anyway! --Thejoker (talk) 21:40, 8 October 2013 (EDT)

Unused images

Okey, I didn't know about that NUKE tag thing, thanks! --Thejoker (talk) 07:23, 13 October 2013 (EDT)

Zastava M70 in 'A Dangerous Man'

Thanks a lot! Believe it or not but I completely understand what you mean, life on IMFDB is so much easier now. As to the squarer shape of the Zastava M70 gas tube, I did some 'googling' and now I see what you mean. I found some images (folding sight DOWN and folding sight UP) that kind of say it all. Guess I will contact the website and ask permission to use on IMFDB, on the 'Talk' section for the AK-47 page. Thanks as usual for your expert comments, PeeWee055 (talk) 04:55, 14 October 2013 (EDT)

Page locked for "Team America: World Police"

Thanks for the suggestion, I think that was the case. I remember that when I put up the page I was in a bit of a hurry so I can imagine that to have happened. Case closed and 'thakns so mmcuh'! - PeeWee055 (talk) 11:06, 21 October 2013 (EDT)

Thanks for letting me know. I'll keep that in mind for the future. --Ben41 (talk) 18:07, 24 October 2013 (EDT)

Re: Countdown (Lichnyy nomer)

Thanks for your comments, I believe you’re quite right on the pistol being a Skif Anics A-3000. Checked with other screenshots and we have a 100% match. As to your suggestion for the 2nd gun being a PDT-9T Esaul, I respectfully disagree somewhat. Judging by the typical ‘hooked’ front sight, I think it’s more likely to be a Kedr PP-91 / Klin PP-9. I just happened to notice this morning that these guns make an appearance in the movie so it’s probably the same prop. Thanks again, PeeWee055 (talk) 07:00, 19 November 2013 (EST)

Thanks for your comments but I stick with this being a real Kedr PP-91 / Klin PP-9. Reasons are that (a) it’s never seen fired so just for show and (b) the credits show that this movie was heavily supported by the Russian authorities and it shows lots of real Russian Sukhoi fighter jets, real Mil Mi-24 helicopters so I can imagine the Russian armed forces kindly supported a few guns as well for demo purpose to make the movie look cool, PeeWee055 (talk) 08:21, 20 November 2013 (EST)

Symbols

So let me get this straight, this just about symbols!? You don't need to revert my edits just cuz of that, you should instead, if you don't like it, you petty guys edit it in another way (remove "×" and put "x" and leave my edits), this only shows how lazy admins are. I don't know how do you do the "×" sign on U.S. keyboard, but on my typeboard, I just simply type it. I suggest you (or any other admin) revert Funkychinaman's revision and bring it back on mine, then I'll edit as you like it (since none of you wants). TitaniumAlloy (talk) 13:22, 28 November 2013 (EST)

Basically, sorry.

To say the least, automatic crossbow discussion was not only a case of doing before thinking and mindless arguing, but also it was pretty much offensive, especially for you. I really feel like I should say sorry for it. And I'm actually upper intermediate in English (I have some minor grammar problems but I'm well in a few other things and have a good vocabulary) - my writing style just degraded a little bit, because I was tired and feeling not that well yesterday so I really wrote it all wrong, especially putting Van Helsing in it. I should have researched for real cases well, at the very least. So I completely deserved the ban, Evil Tim put on me last evening. I have used it productively, though: today I just was roaming through "unidentified" category, identified quite a few things (plus a few other minor faults) and were using MS Word to write what I will upload now. I really hope to be more valuable for this site. Thanks. --Kloga (talk) 19:52, 18 December 2013 (EST)

I see that you are well processed article. It causes me respect. Now users of the site (and I am among them) will be able to find out much more information about this type of weapon. Thank you very much.

Andrey Karchikyan (talk) 22:22, 8 January 2014 (MSK)

Hey

Hey, I got a question: I heard that in real life, open bolt weapons do not need to be cocked after reloading an empty magazine (unless the trigger was held down after emptying the mag). Is it true for ALL open-bolt weapons? (including some like AA-12, MG3, M60, Thompson, etc)?
Also, the grenade launchers have a timer fuse to prevent it from exploding at short range, but is it also the case for the rocket launchers? (I heard that too). --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 11:36, 11 January 2014 (EST)

Heroes

Hey Commando, thanks for the help identifying the guns on the Heroes pages. I also have a favor to ask, I have this on rifle in Season 4 that needs identifying in order to complete the page. It's on Talk:Heroes - Season 4, Ben41 suggests it might be a Steyr SSG 69, do you think you could take a look and give me your opinion since the both of you helped me so many times before? Thanks in advance?--Alienqueen11 (talk) 00:08, 30 January 2014 (EST)

Black Hawk Down

The Black Hawks seen in the film were part of the 160th SOAR (Special Operations Aviation Regiment), which is part of the US Army. Also, as stated in the discussion section, the GAU-17 is the USAF designation. --Ben41 (talk) 20:03, 4 February 2014 (EST)

The Hooligan Wars

Thanks for your remarks about the G36C on The Hooligan Wars. I was wondering about the vent holes myself but before I could post a question, you kindly answered. One more thing, with you being from the UK, can you confirm that 'police officers' is a correct description for the UK law enforcement officers that are in the movie (esp. in the images for 'unidentified pistol' and the 'G36' variants)? I was tempted to say something like 'SWAT' but don't want to do so until more details are confirmed. Thanks for letting me know, PeeWee055 (talk) 12:37, 1 April 2014 (EDT)

Thanks for the info, I corrected the page accordingly. Cheers, PeeWee055 (talk) 05:28, 2 April 2014 (EDT)

Flare Pistol in Soldier Boyz

Thank you for identifying this gun. It was my headache from the moment of creating Soldier Boyz page. I have tried several times to solve this riddle but without any success. Greg-Z (talk) 11:42, 20 June 2014 (EDT)

Dominion

Since you seem to know how to create a new page I'm trying to create the page for that new SyFy show called Dominion which is based on Legion so can you give me some pointers on how to create the page?--Balin21 (talk) 18:21, 22 June 2014 (EDT)

Thanks for the tips all I'm really good at is identifying guns and screen caps I want to try create a page for the first time so thanks for the pointers.--Balin21 (talk) 18:48, 22 June 2014 (EDT)

I finally created my first page thank you for giving me the tips and references to make the page.--Balin21 (talk) 18:24, 2 July 2014 (EDT)

World War I films

Thanks for the suggestions. I am hoping to find pages that have HD or really good DVD screencaps. --Ben41 (talk) 19:56, 26 June 2014 (EDT)

One more flare pistol

Sorry to disturb you, but as you are an expert in flare guns, maybe you can help with one more item? For a long time I cannot identify a flare pistol in Naples... Serenade for Caliber 9. It looks quite typical for flare guns but the protrusions below the barrel doesn't match any model that I could find. Thanks in advance! Greg-Z (talk) 02:18, 23 July 2014 (EDT)

Riva Esterina Black Widow

I'm confused a little. While the gun page says that Black Widow appeared in 1982, it is seen in 1972 film. Greg-Z (talk) 12:00, 28 August 2014 (EDT)

I guess that 1982 is a year of manufacturing of the particular revolver that they sell on this site. Greg-Z (talk) 12:29, 28 August 2014 (EDT)

Aspect ratios

I think 4:3 is the only aspect ratio fit for 500px. 16:9 is the standard HDTV ratio. --Funkychinaman (talk) 13:08, 19 September 2014 (EDT)

I don't necessarily disagree, I just think we should append the Style Guide to say that then. I don't want to confuse new users by giving them information that conflcits with the guides. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:15, 19 September 2014 (EDT)
I distinctly remember posting a wikipedia link to all the different aspect ratios, maybe it was for the screencapping guide. I was in favor of 700 for 2.4:1, but I think Ben was against it. And it would be a huge undertaking to fix all the existing pages. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:55, 19 September 2014 (EDT)
Here it is: "Thumbnails of "full-screen" (4x3 ratio) screencaps should be set at 500 pixels, thumbnails for "widescreen" screencaps (1.66:1, 16:9, 1:85:1, 2.35:1) screencaps should be set to 600 pixels. Lower quality screencaps, from unrestored films, VHS copies or those filmed in 16mm may have thumbnails set to 400px. For reference, please see here" (This was the link to this. --Funkychinaman (talk) 15:16, 19 September 2014 (EDT)

RE: UBGLs

I figured out I'd complete this list by at least adding images of the additional launchers. But you're right, I think these two should be removed, since they don't appear in a media. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 19:13, 27 September 2014 (EDT)

Using an IMFDB Picture on Wikipedia

Hey, Commando552. I was wondering how to properly cite IMFDB when uploading an image to Wikipedia. --L.J. Gibbs (talk) 12:52, 28 September 2014 (EDT)

more info on the SL8

a long time ago you and I spoke about the SL8. Well, You have an eagle eye. One of the problems with pics I take is that they are definitely MOVIE GUNS, not perfect examples of the real world guns. Many times armorers update or 'fake' new models by making modifications for the projects (heck, if the producers or directors don't notice, then why not?). That is why I want to swap out a bunch of the mix and match gun pics I shot for the M16 series and some of the FN FAL series with examples that have all the correct items on them. But you know well, that we mix and match ALL the time. I'm not sure if that's a bad thing, since IMFDB IS a chronicle of guns in movies, not 'guns of the world'. Though it would probably be a good thing to have a perfect example of the 100% spot on version of the 'real world' version of the gun. On your eagle eye spotting of issues with the SL8. The scope rail IS a replacement one from an airsoft kit. The armorer whose gun I photographed, only recently mentioned that the original gun (When he acquire it) had different sights on it so he swapped out the long scope rail from his airsoft gun (for some sort of film, the title of which I don't know) and put it on the real gun. The scope rails are metal so I certainly could not tell. If I can, I can try to get a 100% real world version of that weapon in a pic, though that mockup did appear in 'something' already, I'm not sure what though. Thanks and best regards for your amazing eye for details. MoviePropMaster2008 (talk) 17:07, 30 October 2014 (EDT)

BTW, I locked down your sandbox. I'm not sure if you okay with other users editing it, but I did it just in case. --Funkychinaman (talk) 18:13, 19 February 2015 (EST)
