Beretta 92FS Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg ) uses a Beretta 92FS as his main sidearm in the film.

The gun's ultimate power is grossly misinterpreted, since Hollywood sees this as simply a "shotgun revolver", when infact the .45 Long Colt it fires has more effective stopping power than the birdshot rounds it typically fires (based on the shot pattern left by the gun in the film, it is assumed he uses birdshot). In both scenes it is seen firing, it inaccurately fires six shots when the cylinder only holds five.

During the final assault, Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg ) wields two MP5Ks akimbo, effectively dispatching corrupt police by the dozens. When Max confronts BB Hensley (Beau Bridges ) on the building rooftop, BB fires on Max with an MP5K, but it runs empty before he can score a fatal hit.
