Revision as of 02:27, 17 June 2015
The following weapons were featured in Season 1 of Chris Ryan's Strike Back:
A SIG-Sauer P226 is used by Porter while he is in Iraq in Episode 2. Later, Hugh Collinson (Andrew Lincoln) uses a P226 in Episode 6, giving it to Porter while the two are fighting off a militant attack on the Afghan-Pakistani border.
Tokarev TT-33
Hakim Al-Naseri (Dhaffer L'Abidine) threatens Porter with a Tokarev TT-33 after he is captured by Iraqi insurgents in Episode 2. Gerald Baxter (Ewen Bremner) also briefly points a TT-33 at Porter during Episode 5.
Vektor Z88
Due to the series' production in South Africa, the Vektor Z88, the South African copy of the Beretta 92FS, appears to be the handgun used throughout in lieu of the Beretta, notably by various Zimbabwean security personnel, including Colonel Tshuma (David Harewood).
Porter, while working as a security guard at Section 20, is seen disassembling a 3rd Generation Glock 17 in Episode 1. He later seizes another Glock 17 (this one an older 2nd Generation model) from a soldier and uses it while helping Gerald Baxter escape from American custody in Episode 5.
Revolvers
Astra 680
An Astra 680 revolver can be seen in Episode 6, when Sharq (Alexander Siddig) forces Gerald Baxter (Ewen Bremner) to play Russian Roulette, first loading one round, then a second after the chamber clicks empty. Porter eventually convinces Baxter to leave with him and they use the revolver to escape.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5KN
Porter is armed with what appears to be a Heckler & Koch MP5KN submachine gun with a red dot sight and suppressor in Episode 2. It should be noted that this was an airsoft replica, as is later revealed when he shows that the magazine is empty at the shootout in the desert, just before his extraction.
Assault Rifles
M4A1 Carbine
The M4A1 carbine is used by John Porter, United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF) soldiers, and American forces throughout the series, with a variety of different sights and attachments. It should be noted that the SAS use the Canadian Made C8 Carbine, not the US made M4 Carbine
L85A2
Collinson is briefly seen with a L85A2 in the prologue of "Episode 1" (S1E01), before Porter gives him a Heckler & Koch G3KA4 to use during a hostage rescue mission in Basra.
Heckler & Koch G36C
Porter carries a Heckler & Koch G36C with a red dot sight and suppressor during Episode 5.
AKMS
The AKMS is used throughout the series by enemies, including Iraqi insurgents in episodes 1 and 2, Zimbabwean soldiers in episodes 3 and 4, and Afghan militants in episodes 5 and 6. Porter also uses captured AKMS rifles on several occasions while escaping enemy confinement.
Norinco Type 84
Iraqi insurgents use Norinco Type 84 rifles in full and side-folding stock configurations in both Episode 1 and Episode 2.
Vektor R5
South African soldiers led by Collinson are armed with Vektor R5 rifles in Episode 4.
Vektor R5 (Modified to resemble AK-47/AKM)
Another weapon commonly seen in the hands of enemies are Vektor R5 rifles modified to resemble the AK-47, as distinguished by their angled receivers and Galil-style 5.56mm magazines. These rifles are likely the same as the ones seen in District 9 since armorer Olly Steele worked on both projects.
Battle Rifles
FN FAL
An FN-FAL rifle is used by Porter in Zimbabwe in Episode 4.
Heckler & Koch G3KA4
Collinson uses a Heckler & Koch G3KA4 during the prologue in Episode 1 (S1E01). The rifle is equipped with a red dot sight and a tactical weaponlight. The weapon is erroneously referred to as a "Heckler & Koch UMP" in Episode 6, despite the G3 differing in both appearance and caliber from the UMP.
Sniper Rifles
Truvelo Armory CMS Sniper Rifle
A bolt-action Truvelo CMS Sniper Rifle sniper rifle was used by Felix Masuku during an assassination attempt on Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe in Episode 4.
Remington 700
In Episode 6, a US Marine sniper uses a Remington 700 to track Porter after he is kidnapped by the Taliban.
Machine Guns
FN MAG
Taliban fighters use an FN MAG machine gun while attacking American Marines in Episode 5. In Episode 6, Porter uses a FN MAG to fend off militants that attack him and Collinson on the Afghan-Pakistani border.
Other
RPG-7
The RPG-7 is seen in the hands of Zimbabwean soldiers in Episode 2 and Afghan militants in Episode 6.
